Fantastic tilaphia/lemon dill sauce.
On Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 I decided to stop by to see the band on the patio in the evening. I walk in and ask for a table for 2 on the patio the hostess was very genuine and was more than happy to help me to pick up my waiters slack, I believe her name was Gina…she seemed fairly new not knowing anything about the menu I asked what she’d recommend but it looked like she just pointed to the most expensive thing on the menu. When I leave my table to go to the restroom I find management screaming at staff in the hallway it was slightly awkward and highly unprofessional. The food is mediocre and over prized. I will never eat here again, not worth my time, money, let alone another visit.
Excleent Food … Worth the Stop for the Traveler. Coming back from Key West, we did not want to have our dining options dictated by the Florida Turnpike or other Toll Roads. Being the cheapskate that I can be, we chose this restaurant because it was just before you get on the Florida Turnpike.Glad I did and from what I know now, I would choose this place even if I was not in a cheapskate mode.Looking over the place, this was probably a popular place in the ’60’s and ’70’s for family traveling with small kids. Motife still stands although later day EZ Rider types are now an element. We stopped by at lunch having driven up from Key West. Not sure what we would find but waht we did find was excellent. Service was very good.My wife had her traditional Philly Cheese Steak and I had something called a Gorganzola (Blue Cheese) Steak Burger. Both very very good and sides were excellent.Regarding the EZ Riders, got into an interesting conversation with them as to Canon, vs Nikon vs Leika and film vs digiatl etc. Looks can be decieving and these EZ Riders were definately not dead heads.Looks can be decieving and this one is. Definately a place to try.
Very good food for such a rundown city. I never expected much beyond a Cracker Barrel or Olive Garden when driving through Homestead/ Florida City. I am so glad I was recommended this place. I was pleasantly surprised to eat good seafood at a reasonable price – and with good service might I add!. Everyone travelling with me fully enjoyed their meals. And I will keep this restaurant in mind come future trips.
Dear Lord,. Would I ever eat here again, sure. But I would have to order two meals, one for me and one for the guy holding the gun to my head. I wanted a good seafood meal. So I ordered surf n turf with a twice baked potato. Literally everything on my plate was inedible. I spent fifty dollars for the worst meal of my entire life. However, the food was far from the worst thing about this place. The service was the worst service of my entire life. The Asian waitress was as mean as a snake and the chef refused to fix me a meal that was edible. Had I not been on a business trip I would have refused to pay. Instead, I refused to tip.
Way Overpriced!. Even though one doesnt expect a gourmet meal while in Florida City, neither does one expect to severly overpay for mediocre food at best. We ended up here as it was New Year’s Eve and not much else was open at 8:30 pm for dinner. While our waiter Erik was very genuine and caring, I should have skipped the mealEntrees are served without a salad or vegetable (unless you consider cole slaw one). The scallop pasta came to the table about 15 min after the rest of our meals ans was more like pasta soup just swimming in the greasy sauce. The grilled fish was tasteless and uninspired. If you are looking for a good meal when in this area, try Captains REstaurant down thes street or Rositas Mexican but i recommend avoiding this overpriced, Outdated tourist trap.
Vintage Florida Keys! Very reiminiscent of all the fun family vacations I went on as a small fry. Good service, reasonably priced food, incredibly charming kitschy decor circa 1970. Where else can you have lunch inside a hull of a boat?!
