Great Pad Thai / Best Crab Rangoons in the World!. I’ll stop in Bei Jing every now and then for a quick lunch special or Mongolian Beef when I don’t feel like cooking so I know that Bei Jing changed owners a few months ago. It was good, now it’s great!!!I stopped in last night and saw they were offering Pad Thai for $9.50. I decided I had to take a chance on ordering Thai food from a Chinese restaurant and I’m glad I did!A little bit of background about me: I’m kind of a Thai food groupie. I love good Pad Thai and look forward to when my Thai friends invite me for dinner (even more when their mothers are cooking!) I’ve been to Bangkok and Phukett, so I think I know a little bit about Thai food. South Florida has the worst Pad Thai in the world – it’s more like TexMex Pad Thai than anything else. I have news for you, Glanaga – they don’t put ketchup or chili powder in authentic Pad Thai – EVER!. Good Pad Thai should be golden yellow or light brown, not bright red and dripping with sauce!Back to Bei Jing: The Pad Thai was near perfect – maybe a bit too much roasted garlic and not served with the traditional raw bean sprouts and cucumber slices as garnish, but the taste was slightly sweet with a tinge of spiciness that reminded me of the street vendors on the beaches in Phukett. The serving size was huge! It could have easily fed two people. I will definitely be ordering it again! The other big surprise was the order of Crab Rangoons I bought. God… they were good! I don’t know what made them so much better than other places, but they had a nice sweetness to them that made me not want to stop eating them. With all the crappy Thai food in South Florida, I’m glad I found a place to get great Pad Thai. They also have a Thai Curry dish on their menu that I can’t wait to try also!
What happened? I think you’ve changed ownership again. The same lady doesn’t answer the phone, the delivery guy is totally lost, you left the steamed dumpkings out my order, food is NOT the same as it used to be. Hate when a good thing goes bad!24 Jun, 2012Super searing hot food…delivered QUICK at a fair price!!! I never go wrong with these people, and they package everything so thoroughly with care (an abundance of sauces and fortune cookies are included). I admire a delivery service that knows food should be delivered in a BROWN PAPER BAG instead of plastic!!! Tonight, I ordered at 9:20 PM; they were knocking on my door at 9:38 PM!I know I have read negative feedback on here, but give them a second try. I don’t know if they changed ownership but this place gets it right for me! Very accomodating; they will make almost any dish into a combination lunch or dinner special. The chicken wings are so tasty and crispy. Try the house special lo mein. Teriyaki chicken make great apps and hubby loves the steamed dumplings. Combos are enough for 2 meals.
Average. First try at this delivery American/Chinese restaurant. It was average. Ordered the orange chicken extra spicy-tasted like funnel cake in a gooey, sweet and sour sauce with orange peel-where’s the meat? Second dish-snow peas with chicken-a decent American/Chinese stir-fry. So far, the best dish was the hot and sour soup-quite tasty. Ironically, their white rice is the best rice given in a Chinese restaurant. For future hunger for Chinese food, will stop by just to get the hot & sour soup and rice and then to Crazy Work for their orange chicken!
GREAT FOOD. FOOD IS WONDERFUL…FRESH AND GREAT FLAVORS.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I love this place.. great food great people why go anywhere else for ur money cant go wrong….
CHANGE HAS HAPPENED. WELL everything changes… I went to Bei jing last night for my weekly take out…..and the sweet family who ran the place is gone. Without a word!! New ownership now.. new menu seems like the old one…but the no MSG policy must have changed with the ownership… My head is still throbbing from the food the next morning… NOT GOOD!
Good for vegetarians. While there is nothing fancy about this take-out place, it has quickly become one of our favorites. We are vegetarian, and it’s hard to find good Chinese that has a variety of tofu or veggie dishes. This one has both. The portions are large and a great value. They also have cheese wontons, which are a personal favorite!
