First the food. I was tempted to check if my Italian Grandmother was still alive and cooking in that kitchen. This is authentic Italian American cooking and it is excellent. Second the scene – it is over the top Northeast guido at its finest. For those complaining it is not a good place to take kids – good. No one on vacation wants to hear you and your spoiled kid argue over putting down the iPhone and eating while paying for a high end dinner. You love your kids, take them to Olive Garden for ravioli. As for dates – if your date can’t enjoy Martoranos then you shouldn’t be dating him/her. They are no fun. This place is loud, flashy, fun – its a pricey experience that is worth it. They are not here to amuse you, but if you want to have GREAT authentic Italian food in an over the top setting -this place is top notch. Mangia.

Worst experiance ever. I don’t even know where to begin. i have eaten in restaurants all over the world and have had the best and the worst, this was by far the worst i have ever had. the service was horrible, waiters almost demanding what i should eat. since when is mac & cheese an italian dish? my first experiance with steve and his food was in the early 90’s i remember eating to sinatra and leaving to some great classic disco and soul. steve was a gentleman who treated everyone with the same respect. i honestly did’nt even recognize him when i walked in (and he did’nt notice me either) i guess fame has it’s price. i was a regular there for quite a while. but since this last time i will never go back. i do however wish him all the best. here’s a tip……go back to the basics, and don’t forget wher you came from. sorry steve………

So, so sad. 20 years ago this place was beyond awesome; a small store front with a few tables around the kitchen where Steve and his assistant cranked out reasonably priced absolutely fabulous fare in true little Italy style. Then they got popular, expanded and basically became a dance club serving food. The food isn’t terrible, but its not so good anymore either. The atmosphere is excessively loud, the decor is garish at best, and the staff ….pompous, is probably the best description. Of course the prices have skyrocketed as well, which given the decline in quality is inappropriate. If you like having your teeth jarred by loud music while dining this is the place for you. If you’re looking for excellent Italian American fare I suggest you keep looking past this place, maybe to Runway 84 a short drive to the south.Sorry Steve, but that’s the way it is.

Don’t Bother!. I ate here recently and what a disaster. The food was really lousy. I ordered Linguine with White Clam Sauce and what arrived at the table was a pile of linguine floating in a puddle of clam juice with a few small clams steamed open. Pitiful. My friend who joined me for dinner had the veal parmesean which consisted of frozen veal patties doused with marinara sauce and spaghetti on the side. We did order the meatball appetizer which was ONE meatball for $19!!! We like the meatball! Too bad there weren’t two of them-we wouldn’t have ended the evening hungry. The fast food Italian places at airports are more appetizing.

Small balls big ego. You can’t get past the chef. This place is loaded with attitude. It’s a shame because the basic’s were there at one time. Way past it’s prime. Does not deliver. Meat balls are good but I’m from south Philly and you got to be 100%. Front and Back are resting on the old times.

Amazing! This is one of my favorite Italian spots! The service, atmosphere, wine, and food are all excellent. Be sure to get the meatballs & waffle dessert, mmmm! Must have!
