Horrible food and Attitude. My girlfriend and I live in Victoria park and were out on a bike ride that extended into rio vista to 17th st. We got hungry and all I had was my phone with a paypal app that showed the restaurants in the area. China Lui came up so we rode our bikes over. The owner seemed to be in a bad mood. We ordered our food and waited. Since we were on the bikes we wanted to eat there. He didn’t want us to stay an eat because he said it was close to closing time. Keep in mind it was 8:30 pm. Therefore his attitude sucked, the food was cold and the spring role was partly frozen. So if your closing that early you must not be doing that good of business. I would never go back.

Here’s some of the garbage we got—Chicken wings— tiny dried-out pieces,obviously pre-frozen, with batter on them.NEVER have i had Chinese wings with batter. Instead of cups with duck sauce and moustard,little plastic envelopes with lousy sauce. Shrimp with Lobster sauce–8 tiny shrimp in,instead of a brown pork sauce,we were given a white tasteless sauce.Spare Ribs—nice big ribs, totally spoiled with a ketchup barbeque sauce.NEVER in a Chinese restaurant have i ever seen this. General Tso’s chicken—4 or 5 little chunks of tough fried chicken with overcooked vegetables. In fact, everything we got with vegetables was overcooked.Hot and Sour So.up—worst ever.Pre-frozen Egg Rolls. Fried Rice—decent,but it’s tough to ruin anyway Stay away from this place.
Real Mustard. They have real muastard. Reasonable prices and good food. Will order again.

Enjoyed Them for Years. I started going to China Lui when they had a sit-down restaurant on Las Olas (early 90s). Even after they moved to 17th Street Causway and became take-out only, we ordered (and still order!) at least once a month. The food is always fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. The owners are also very accommodating to special requests (change os ingredients, level of spice, etc.). Whenever we request delivery, the food is always delivered within 30 minutes and is still hot. China Lui is a local gem.
