Standard blah and none too cheap.. I just started working in the area so I’m checking out some of the more ‘reasonably priced’ places nearby. I went into CJ’s the other day, long after the lunch rush. Place was almost empty. I ordered a BLT on whole wheat toast to go, with the pasta salad. After waiting almost 15 minutes I get my $7.95 plus tax BLT. When I open it up back at work I see what they gave me. Bread’s not toasted. Bacon consists of two tablespoons of crumbled up pieces ‘piled’ on the untoasted bread. And no mayo. Ever get a BLT with mayo on the side??? I later found a little packet in the bag. The pasta salad was completely unseasoned. Not even salt. No taste at all. This was my first and last trip to CJ’s. If you’re in the neighborhood and craving a BLT, go to Bob & Wilson’s at 450 Las Olas. Better sandwich and a dollar cheaper, to boot.

Small portions. I had the BBQ Chicken Sandwich and WOW was the portion small. Apparently $7.95 does not go far at CJ’s10 Jan, 2013Hit or miss. Somedays you get your food quickly and other days it takes for ever. It doesn’t even seem to depend on how busy they are. Strange. The worst dish I’ve had is the chicken quesadilla. They sprinkle a little grounded chicken (I think it was chicken) and charge you over $8. I couldn’t believe it.
Slow Slow Slow…did I mention SLOW. 14 minutes for 2 eggs, toast and a pre-made hash brown patty. Bad for a cafe when the place is busy, but completely unacceptable when you’re the only one in the joint, other than the young lady taking orders & the 2 people in the kitchen. Not the first issue with service here, but the straw that broke the camels back. Won’t be back and won’t use for events either.
Better than most office building cafes. I stopped in at CJ’s one morning before a meeting. It’s nice and clean. Lighting is nice for waking up with your coffee. I had a surprisingly tasty egg/bacon/cheese breakfast sandwich and a good cup of coffee. The service was friendly and quick.
