Best on Las Olas. I was at Grille 401 for my girlfriend’s birthday, never been there before. I heard great things about it so I figure lets go and check it out. Most the the times the buzz is not what the real thing is.I must say I was pretty surprised how good Grille 401 was.We went there last week on Thursday not expecting to be busy, wrong!, the whole bar area and patio was completely full. We set in the main dining room, busy as well and even so service was great, friendly not overwhelming just perfect. The food is incredibly good if you are familiar with Las Olas you will definitely love the food at Grille 401. Grilled artichokes amazing, I got a bone in ribeye cooked to perfection, my girlfriend had the Asian sea bass so fresh and flavorful.Key lime pie OMG I felt I was in Key West.I definitely recommend this restaurant, I will definitely come back.JS

Service. I usually don’t write reviews, but I had such great service that I figured I needed to spread the word. First off, I love going to Grille 401 for happy hour. Buy one get one free drinks and half off apps, how can you beat that! But besides that the staff always makes you feel so welcome. Tabatha is my go to girl, she’s always so upbeat and really just makes you feel at home. If your looking for an appetizer, I recommend the crab fritters, you wont be disappointed!

Everything was great! I think it’s so funny when people say they don’t like a place because of price HELLO we are on las olas what do you expect….. It was well worth it. The steak salad delish had with goat cheese since I don’t like blue, grouper special was yummy, Mac and cheese SO creamy, crab fritters are amazing will order again! Tried my husbands New Orleans pasta he liked it but it was a bit smokey for me. Nice place 🙂

Take a pass. If you like boring, pedestrian, over-priced food, this is your place. It’s like hotel food without the hotel.

Went there for dinner. Food bad. Service bad. Expensive.

Nothing special. Average to tick above average food although nothing really stood out. Service (ate at the bar with my wife) was pretty atrocious.

GREAT BEGINNING. I have heard a lot about Grille 401, come positive and some negative. I always take these remarks with a grain of salt, specifically when a place is new and working out the operational and logistical kinks. I decided as I prefer to do when a new a restaurant opens from the ground up; Grille 401 is a little different though. As they have some secondary links to two other successfull restaurants, they don’t have their own identity at the very beginning. They did however have to deal the identity’s of the two restaurants that plagued this location prior to Grille 401 opening. So, I was very cautious…. and I am glad I was, and very happy that I waited and didn’t take the negative comments that I had heard prior. I was very impressed.First, the space is beautiful! I love the use of materials and colors, maintaining a traditional environment with some modern / contemporary accents that work very well. They were able to take a cavernous space that existed with RARE and BOVA, soften it and make it inviting. I do agree that the bar is a little enclosed but all in all it is a nice place to hang. The reception was warm and inviting, I chose to sit at the bar and I was greated and welcomed with open arms. Bartenders were friendly and talkative. It was later in the afternoon and it was right before Thanksgiving so there wasn’t a crowd in the place but that is pretty much universal for all restaurants.I was greated by the bartenders and ordered a glass of wine after being offered a menu and wine list. The service was warm, friendly and accomodating…. the perfect representation of the definition of hospitality. The wine was fresh and crisp, I could tell the bottle was opened recently, I was given a large glass of water and given some time to look over the menu.I was surprised about how extensive the selections were on the menu but I ordered the Crab Fritters and Jalepeno Mac n Cheese. Both came out fresh, hot and savory. The Crab Fritters were the perfect marriage of crispy and crab, the sauce had the ideal marriage of spice, savory and sauce and with a garnish of veggies it was the ideal marriage of flavor, texture and taste. The Jalepeno Mac n Cheese was amazing, I could have easily had this by itself but the Crab Fritters kept calling my name so I indulged.I am so happy that I did indulge and tried both, they were well prepared and fresh as though the items weren’t sitting around for a while waiting for the first caller.Grille 401 is the perfect recipe for a location that has been yearning for an identity. I think it is amazing and admirable that this restaurant has been open since October 20 and they are just now getting ready for their Grand Opening. People listen close, when restaurants choose a hard opening: blitzing the market with their presence and saturating the market with their identity without a thought about what is done and how it is done….. watch out. These locations are short-lived, they are looking for your money and aren’t concerned about your perception of value and how you will regard the restuarant when you are done. What I respect about Grille 401 and Rainmaker, is their dedication to doing things right…. sure they havne’t been slammed and they haven’t been filled to the rafters with glitzy, glamourous trend seeking guests….. they seemed to be more focused on the long-term! They are looking at creating a positive identity in a space that was deemed hopeless after the jokers that ran the operations prior to Grille 401 coming in and spicing up the foot of Las Olas. Go Grille 401, keep it up… your doing amazing.
