Great location on the water …. Great location on the waterFood was just ok at best and very expensive
Go for the view…. …right on the New River in the heart of town. Parking can be a problem. Staff at the bar friendly and attentive. I have eaten here a couple of times — can’t say I’ve been dazzled, but I don’t think I’ve had a bad meal. You’re here for the view, the drinks, and the good-times atmosphere.
Unique Tastes. What a cute place along the water! Quiet and off the beaten path, we stopped for dinner after a Water Taxi ride. The staff is courteous and polite. The entree selection was more than what I thought with unique ingredients and flavors. We tried the pirates bowl which is a mix of clams, calamari, shrimp, fish and mussels. The seafood was very tender and done well. The fire shrimp appetizer was spicy just like it stated, made with a bunch of different hot peppers, each with a distinctive taste. Their special drink with the Brazilian rum was delicious. Really glad we came.
Had lunch here and I’ll say the food is just ok. My mom ordered the conch fritters which were mostly filler and had very little conch…I would even venture to say they were more than likely frozen. The price ($13) for the caprese salad was entirely too much; it was a bowl of halved cherry tomatoes, browning basil and small mozzarella balls. The fish ceviche was good, but typical…they didn’t add any signature to it. My grandmother’s mahi sandwich was good though. Also, the reason I picked this place was because it was dog-friendly (per http://www.bringfido.com) but no one offered her a simple bowl of water which other restaurants do. Also, you are relegated to the far ends of the dock with a dog.I may return again for drinks, but food prices are a lot higher than they should be for what you get.
Great on-the-water location! Terrific Mojitos
