As a huge food truck fan I had to be there when I heard about the gathering at Brian Piccolo park. I walked around and looked at all 20+ trucks and picked SFT. I had the green burger and man was it good. The avocado and whatever kind of sauce they put on it was so tasty. The burger was thick and juicy, so much that it made the bun soggy. Overall it was great and I hope to see them again.
Best Food Truck Fries Ever. Loved, loved the Truffle Fries — shoestring-skinny fries, perfectly cooked, with ample parm and truffley-oil topping. Maybe scallions as well — I remember green flecks. Plenty to share, served well in a tall paper cup. Great service, to boot. Super Freaking Tasty, indeed!
Tragic, tragic burger. I’m interested in the slow food movement, so I was really excited to catch the mobile Slow Food Truck (SFT) at the Stonewall celebration. They had an intriguing menu – maybe that’s where I went wrong, by ordering a cheeseburger instead of some of the less pedestrian choices. However, a burger is what I got – a flavorless, dry beef pattie on a bun with a skimpy bit of cheddar cheese. The cheese wasn’t even centered on the burger, it had been melted entirely on one half. However, the cheese did have a good flavor, it was a tasty bit of medium cheddar. The bun was very good, a nearly perfect burger bun IMO – slightly sweet, soft white bread bun of a nice size, not so thick that you lose the flavor of the burger altogether. Unfortunately, if didn’t make up for the dry (oh my gosh, do I have enough water left to help me swallow this? because I’ll never get it unstuck from my mouth and down my throat without some moisture) dry burger. It was so overcooked that the texture was chewy.
