We wanted to get away from the restaurants on the beach and we were lucky to find this place. Great vibe, awesome drink menu, good food. If getting there and waiting for a table is an issue for you, they are on no wait and you can check wait times and get in line before you even leave your house. We will definitely go back the next time we are in town.

Good if you like beer. Nice atmosphere, good burgers

Good food, not for kids. We went there today and the food is good. mostly a burger joint but the atmosphere even during the day is huge college crowd, loud as hell, drinks flowing constantly. Obviously not for kids at all but there were kid present when we went who were witness to a girl yelling shot! shot! shot! as a friend took shots and a man to our right speak about sex, in detail, LOUDLY. it was 3p when we were having lunch and all this was happening. so if you’re looking for a college meat market this is the place.

Average food, good beer, long waits for table and food/ do not listen to assurances from manager that tables are clearing up). To me not worth wait for food but good place to grab a beer.

Always crowded. Second time at Tap 42 last night. Went there once for a late lunch and getting a table was easy. Every other time we have tried to go it has been difficult to park and there has been a long wait for a table. Went around 9:45 last night with a friend for late dinner. We got a table in about 15 minutes. Plenty of beers to choose from and we sampled some while waiting. For an appetizer we tried the two hot dates snack- and it was very delicious and a perfect size to split amongst two people. Friend tried the drunken goat burger and said it was good. I had the blackened mahi mahi sandwich and it was also good. Tap 42 still had a decent crowd when we left around 11:00pm. Obviously I am not the only person who gives it a thumbs up.

Tap into This. I heard about Tap 42 almost a year ago though Twitter. They have a slick web presence and a very interesting menu with dishes suitable for vegetarians that can be adapted for Vegans. After all this time, why did it take me so long to visit? Well mainly because I live in way south Miami and the drive is not appealing at almost 52 miles one way. This time, I just happened to be in Ft Lauderdale, on a Sunday, in time for Sunday Brunch.I arrived about 11 am and there was almost no place to park, although I did land a spot around the back. The place is large and airy with big tables (seating 7) lining the walls. The Bar is long, bright, and open with lots of seats as well. There is also a good sized outdoor seating and waiting area with what looked like very comfortable lounges. So I walked in and was immediately greeted. Table for 2 Sunday Brunch. The menu for Brunch is much shorter than the regular menu but I seriously doubt that anyone would miss anything. Its geared towards brunch and theyve done a good job at it. My initial concern was could they adapt to my vegan daughter….well they have a Quinoa Salad that fits the bill without the Feta cheese. The salad was a good portion size and my daughter like it so much that she posted a pic on her Instagram account for other Vegans that follow her. For myself, I was caught on a quandary on what to order…the Prohibition or the Drunken Goat burger? Our waiter told me hands down I should go with the Drunken Goat, so I did. Being that it was brunch I felt it obligatory that I order a Founders Breakfast Stout. Beer is a calling for me as I am a Home Brewer and all around Craft Beer aficionado. I must say that it was an excellent choice. My burger arrived on a tin tray covered in paper with fries in a metal cup. Eclectic dishware that fit the ambiance of the place to a tee. Ive had lamb burgers before and they always tend to require lots of condiments (tzatzki) for moisture. This is definitely not the case at Tap 42 where I was served hands down the best lamb/beef burger I think Ive ever had. It needed nothing in the way or moisture. It could have used a bit more greens though. The Fries. Fries for me are very important and if I put ketchup on fries it means they are worthless. At Tap 42 they come lightly pre-seasoned, crisp, and hot. I think that they would do well to put a little bit of a larger portion in the cup though. Food wise Tap 42 will not disappoint. Pricewise the food is on average with other places but quality wise its a real bargain. The only problem I have is that its 52 miles away.Beer wise, well those who appreciate good beer will be very pleased with the large and changing selection. Pricewise I do believe that they about average with most other places but then again most other places simply dont have the selection. The average price is $6 to $7 for a glass. If you find yourself in Lauderdale, you would do well to make this a stop. Now I need to find reasons to be in Ft Lauderdale more often. If only..
