American Cafe – Italian?. Went there and it was interesting but the name is deceiving. Pretty good food but not worth making a trip back to get. Was in Ft. Myers on business and went with others to this place. To hear them talk it was like the end of the earth for good food. But, It was good but not as good as they made it out to be. I don’t know to call it Americanized Italian or Italian influenced American. Just go try and decide for yourself.
Love!. I freaking love this place! I know it’s a chain but it’s a rather small, obscure chain and it’s so good! It’s located in the Edison Mall in Fort Myers, my hometown. There are a few other locations in the Southeast region but the only times I ever make it to one is when I visit my parents.I have to go here to eat the spinach dip. Spinach dip is one of those dishes that many, many places serve but it’s rarely done well. This restaurant serves my absolute favorite spinach dip which they call the Spinach Con Queso. I have to be honest because of my love for the Spinach Con Queso I haven’t tried too many other things on the menu. They do serve excellent bread and butter before your meal though. The bread is fresh and I don’t know if they put chives or garlic or something in their butter but it’s so tasty!Another treat that I love to get is the fried mozzarella which is star-shaped! It’s always cooked perfectly to where the cheese is all gooey inside without burning the outside. Their tomato dill soup is also excellent!It’s a normal, casual place with good service and wonderful food. Like I said, I try to make it here every time I visit my parents and I can’t wait until my next trip back home.
GREAT EATS!!. We eat at the Silver Spoon often when we are wintering in Ft. Myers each year. The food is EXCELLENT, especially the burgers on $5.00 Monday. The burgers are superb. Another item we love is Jumbalaya Pasta, the lunch specials, and the fantastic tomato dill soup. All but one of the wait staff are excellent. The place is decent and all one would expect for a mall restaurant. We love this place!!!
