Delicious! Started with delicious bread, perfect crust. We both got yaegerschnitzel, spaetzel and pan fried potatoes. Yummy. Good size portions. Had leftover next day, good then too. Good thing it was the end of our vacation or would have gained weight going there every night. Did I mention the gravy. Drooling.
Austrian-German Restaurant, Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL., A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and some chatter. The food. My order of potato salad, (warm german style) was excellent. Pork Schnitzel, 2 large pieces fried and seasoned to perfection. For dessert apple strudel with whip cream. Lets not forget the meat dumpling soup, wonderful.Now some chit chat… This eatery is like a oasis in a otherwise boring strip mall. NO television, real cloth napkins plus indoor and outdoor tables. The background music is german . This is a dining experience …NOT just dine and dash….Service is great. Plenty of parking.PLUS every 2nd Saturday, of the month through the entire year, dinner time, they offer a german buffet. Which I believe cost 25 bucks per person.So stop in and give them a try.
Dined with my wife and her mother and brother who were visiting from Germany. The mother is very particular and an excellent cook, she loved the food and thought it was as good as her own cooking, high praise from her! Make sure you bring a good appetite, the portions are huge. If a native German loves the food then you know it is good and authentic. If you Find yourself visiting Ft. Meyers, do yourself a favor and try the food, you won’t be disappointed.
Waited almost 2 hrs for our food!
Overpriced-HORRIBLE service & unexpected charges!!. First of all, we had to wait an hour and a half for our food.The food is not good, it is awful. No taste at all and the dumplings hard like a tennis ball.Any house wife in Germany cooks better !!!! even if she just started to cook.Beware! There are NO free refills in this restaurant and you will receive full charge for any sides substituted in addition to the charge of your dinner.When we received the bill however, we learned that we had been charged for each and every coke and tea refill as well as substitution charges (which equals full charge for a side order).To expensive, not worth the money at all !!!!Never again !!!!!
Good Stuff!. Much more than this can be said for the food here, but I liked it, and I am not a real German food fan, but I did like this and would be a go back if in the area.
Great Food. Really enjoyed this place. Everything I ate was spot on how it should have tasted at a German resturante. Has a very large schnitzel selection, but rest of menu is a bit more pan-European than just German/Austria. The liver soup is amazing, so please dont be scared by the word liver! Only complaint is that they DONT have saurkraut… WTH!
