I ordered the Steamer pot: pound of mussels, pound of clams, half pound of shrimp. The garlic seasoning described on the menu was negligible or completely absent. The mussels were woefully over-steamed (shrunken, tough and tasteless). And, the clams were missing! I brought the clam issue to my server’s attention, and shortly thereafter a small bag was brought to my table. However, the clams were the smallest that I have ever seen – the meat of each being smaller than a dime, and that is no exaggeration! Are clams of that size legal to harvest?Joe’s Crab Shack has recently joined the Landry organization, with whom I have had numerous positive experineces in the past. McCormick & Schmicks property in Naples has rarely failed to exceed my expectations, and offers the best Veteran’s Day meal in Southwest Florida. However, this experience makes me extremely skeptical about Landry’s oversight of its properties, and I am doubtful that I’ll ever be persuaded to return to this location.I should add that my server was excellent. But, that can’t make up for an obviously mismanaged kitchen, that doesn’t know its own menu and has, apparently, never tasted it.
So this Joes used to be our favorite place for. Great plate of crab legs…but this last visit was a nightmare. This place gives the entire Joes chain a terrible name…no quality control at all! So first plates come out with water-logged, over cooked crab legs…waited forever to tell waitress that never came back so finally got someone else to help. Could not get drinks refilled. Got some new crab. Rotten sides arrive!! We show our waitress and she just smiles and takes it. No sorry, no delivery of new sides, no request to change sides, just disappears again…no butter delivered with new plates..so dry crab. Seemed like no one cares about quality. Let us leave with. Large bill paying for poor plates and rotten food…lost this customer for this,place and wonder if chain is even worth visiting again…loved the one in Columbus OH…but this seemed like new.,inexperienced management and lazy staff. Horrible experience with parwnts which should have been a nice holiday meal…..
