Celebrated our anniversary with a elegant meal at Sasse’s in Fort Myers. The food was prepared just for us by Chef Josep and it was fantastic. This isn’t a large restaurant but it is one of the best. I highly recommend you checking out this place even if its not a special occasion.

Pork Tenderloin. Pork was cooked to perfection. Cut with a fork & melts in your mouth! The mustard-horseradish sauce really complimented the sweetness of the pork.

Fantastic Wine Dinner. My Girlfriend and I attended the 5 course Wine dinner. The first course was a tasty salad with Poached Pears, candied Walnuts and Gorgonzola cheese tossed in a whole grain Mustard Vinaigrette which was yummyy. The Cold Garlic Soup with Grapes and Melon was unique and paired with a Cinsault Rose. The third course had an awesome white bean Ragout ( very very tasty ) with pan seared Opakapaka Snapper from Hawaii. Our fourth course was a Sicilian Style Sweet an Sour Chicken with Raisins and Chocolate which was very different but tasted wonderful. The Sangiovese was paired perfectly! The final course Duo of braised Oxtail and stuffed Pork Tenderloin with Goat Cheese and Mandarin Oranges. The Oxtail was superb and delicious and very tender. The pairing with the Pork Tenderloin worked very well with the Garnacia from Spain. Kudos to the entire Sasse’s Team and especially to Barbara and Jerry which made sure everybody had a great time.

Very Good Italian Restaurant. We went there Saturday night for my fiances birthday with a few other family members. It was not very busy, but the food was very good and the staff was very pleasant. We started out witht he Sizzling Shrimp with Mushrooms, Garlic and Spicy Olive Oil. The dish was prepared excellent. The shrimp were cooked to prefection and the mushrooms and olive oil were a great pairing. For the table we ordered the Tomato and Homemade Mozzarell salad. The tomoates tasted like they were from my own garden, ripened on the vine. The salad was excellent and was enough for 5 people. My fiance had the Seared Sea Scallops, they were cooked great, the honey walnut butter sauce was a little different and added more sweet to an already sweet scallop. They were cooked excellent and the taste was good, but maybe a little to much sweet on sweet, but that will not deter us from returning, it will give her a chance to try something else. I had the Salmon with the Horseradish Parmesan crust. This may have been one of the best pieces of salmon I have had. I asked for it to cooked to a certain temperature (not over cooked, maybe like a medium rare to medium) to wear the center was a little opaque. It was cooked beautifully, and the dish was delicious. The only 2 drawback are the service was a little slow. We did say we were not in a hurry, so maybe we should not blame the waitress, but it just seemed like it wook a while to clear the plates between the courses and after dinner. We also had to wait a while for the check to be prepared and cashed out. Like i said, maybe that is our fault for saying we were not in a hurry, who knows. Teh second drawback is the location. It is not the easiest place to find. It is on a road that is probably not traveled by very many. As a matter of fact i have lived here for 9 years and never been down that side of Evans and I used to live within 10 minutes of the restaurant. If it was not for a mutual aquintance telling us about it, I probably would have never seen it. Either way that will not keep us from returning. We enjoyed the food and the experience and recoomend to try this restaurant.

Good Italian. Sasse’s has consistently good Italian food. Not anything spectacular, but consistently good. I think they might be a bit overpriced for dinner, but their lunch prices are reasonable. Large portion sizes. They do a decent version of a margarita pizza and a good fettuccine Alfredo (though they have an alarming tendency to give you whatever pasta they want to give you rather than what you actually order. I ordered stuffed meatballs with spaghetti and they served it with fettuccine.) The best thing I’ve tried on the menu has to be the four cheese bake. Yum.
