i m an Okeechobee boy and growin up here in the sixt’ys and seventy’s Votino’s had a pizzaria down the street from the Fire Deot where my dad worked and eventually became chief, i rember granny would all the time make sure my mom and me had plrnty to drink while we ate,(only cause a couple of my sistrs worked there at one time), wewould usually get a to go pizza to take to the fire house for ad to eat with us when he worked, i used to love that Gondola sub, and i can still taste it, and for the lomgest time Votino’s was the on;y pizzaria in Okeechobee, then they moved to a bigger place and not long after that they folded up and moved back to ft. pierce… mom annd me went 1 time to thier place on US 1 but i havnt had any of thier food since 1981, due time for me to take my wife to dinner one day over there and see if Fred Votino will recognize me after all these years…wish they would have stayed here, was always a busy place cause all the teens would hang out there and eat
Average is probably one of the best ways to summarize this pizzeria the pizza it self is alright at best and the hot wings are lacking in spice if ur looking for good pizza at a decent price I wouldn’t advise this place it’s very incredibly unimpressive
GONDOLA SUB ROCKS!. I was raised in Ft. Pierce, and although I haven’t lived there in almost 25 years, a Florida visit always includes a visit to Votino’s for the Gondola sub. This place has been around for years… we ordered Gondolas as teenagers, when they were located on Orange Ave. back in the ’60s-70s. Crusty homemade bread, delicious meats and cheese toasted to perfection, and indescribably tasty with their special vinegarette. Add banana peppers, pickles and shredded lettuce and you’ve got a real winner. Can’t tell you a thing about the rest of their menu, as I haven’t eaten anything but a Gondola there in years. Well worth the trip/1
Delicious food, friendly wait staff, and the best gondolas ever! Their chicken park sub is fantastic! Its a must go to place.
Terrible Sub. I ordered a sub to go and when I opened it, I thought it must be a joke. This was probably one of the worst sandwiches I ever ordered. I thought when I ordered a Turkey and provolone from an ‘Italian’ restaurant that it would be decent. Instead I got smoked turkey on the top of a bunch of shredded lettuce on a store bought (sinful!) sub roll with one thick piece of provolone stacked on the top. They clearly need to be trained on how to make a proper sandwich. The oil and vinegar I asked for was practically non-existent. I ate two bites and through the rest away in disgust. I guess I have gotten spoiled on Giordano’s subs (Vero Beach) but this was plain awful. Will not be returning to try the pizza.
It’s ok pizza. Sauce needs some work. Sauce taste like ragu. Knots are good but same sauce.
The special pizza is the best. I don’t know what they put in their crust but it is great. They are known for their gondola sandwich, it is awesome. The sweet tea is the best in town!
