I havent had the sushi. But the stir fry plates are good, and the price very reasonable. If you are there at lunch time, and want a lunch portion, make sure they understand that. I have been given and charged for the larger dinner portion at lunch.
I agree with a previous review, this place has gone down hill. While it isn’t as good as it used to be, it still isn’t bad. This place is all about value. All you can eat sushi, sushi specials, and good prices on the cooked food. For the prices, this place is good. The food isn’t top notch, there are better sushi places and Chinese places around town, but the value is there.
Tonight was great. Came in with my girlfriend and shared cream cheese won tons, she loved the egg drop soup, and both of us enjoyed the orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken. Everything came out hot and fast. It was all cooked just right. The server was pleasant, but not very talkative. Very good over all.
Unfortunately this place has gone downhill. When the previous owner (Chen) was there, everything was always great. The sushi was fresh, Chinese food was great, and the service and company of the staff was enjoyable. The last few times that my family has ate there, we keep saying we will never go back. Well this time, it is for sure. This last trip of extreme rudeness from our waitress, the forgetting my order, the drinks being delivered after everyone else’s meal came out. I understand that sushi does take time to make, but 20 minutes after my wife’s and children’s food came out, I had to ask about it to find out that she never put my order in. I see her scramble to the sushi chef to push my order through, this while me asking for to go boxes for everyone since they were already done. So 5 minutes later my food comes, and I ask for a to go box, where she proceeds to tell me that she is going to upcharge me to be able to take it to go since I ordered the $18 all you can eat. So at this point I’ve lost my patience and explain that I still want to pay for the all you can eat but take it to go. That they were making out since I probably would have ordered another 3 rolls. She tries to pick a fight so I asked for the check and said either she can charge me the all you can eat price, or take it back. They took it back and threw it away! The quality has been going downhill steadily over the past year, but this puts it over the top. Slow, rude, bad quality. That’s enough for me. Heading to Orlando next month, so I’m just going to Chen’s new restaurant since I can count on the quality and service that he once held at China Taste when he was the owner. Good luck China Taste, you won’t make it long at this rate.
Placed an order online and didn’t receive my food after nearly 2hrs. When I called for a status update I was told, for the first time, that I was out of delivery range (6 miles away). After requesting a refund/cancellation I was promptly hung up on.
We attempted to order delivery. When we asked what the total would be, he avoided the question and asked for the card number. Then after waiting and hour for our food, we called and he assured us it was on its way. 2 more calls later and 2 hours after ordering and still no food, the driver finally calls us to tell us they do not deliver to Destin. What makes this so frustrating is that we tried to tell the man taking our order that the address was in Destin. Will definitely never order from here again.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend!!!!! Sesame chicken and bourbon chicken are out of this world. Egg rolls are ok. Service is very good and prices are very reasonable.
