I have been twice. It is quick service but it reminds me of a fast food joint, just with barbecue. Both times I have visited, my food came out cold and I had to have them reheat it. Also their desserts look fantastic but I did not care for them either time. I thought the first time might have been a fluke, but twice taught me not to come back.
Not bad, not great. There are better BBQ places in town. Feels almost like a chain, even though they aren’t. The brisket and tri-tip sandwiches are good. Also appreciate the wall of unusual and hard to find sodas. The sides are just average. Often the food is so salty it is almost inedible. My husband goes here sometimes for lunch because it is close to his job. We don’t drive across town, though.Avoid The Sweet Shop. The cupcakes are dry, dry, dry. Just a bunch of frosting and not good frosting at that.
Best smokehouse experience. I went in today and was immediately assaulted with the smell of mouth watering bbq and smokey goodness. The lone was long but the wait short, was greeted by a great guy pretty good spirits even though it appeared they had been busy for a bit. I ordered the smoked chicken quarter and they mixed my order up but fixed it quickly. Got an extra side but Wow!!!!! Had coleslaw, bbq beans and banana foster. I was in no way disappointed and when I got home found out there are 2 more locations close to where I live. Loyalty card here I come!!
Extremely Salty!!!!. No matter what type of meat you end up getting it will be extremely salty to the point that you can’t finish your meal specially their brisket. When I ordered their pulled pork to avoid the salt the BBQ sauce they put on it without asking ended up being super sweet. I would say if you are worried about your health avoid this place. Sunny’s is a little better in my opinion. They can be great if they go easy on the salt and sugar..
Congratulations! 4 the worst bbq and dryest bbq in town. Avoid like the plague.
You’ve got to know what to order. .. Now I’ve only went once but I’m a firm believer that some places just do a few things right & should stick with that. I went here about a month ago & had some awesome bbq pork on top of a grit cake, coleslaw, & jalepenos added on top with the smoked jalepenos as a side. That was really good! We also had some blah kind of sandwich on a Walmart style crappy bun that I quickly ditched & went straight for the meat.. but of greatest disappointment of what we ordered was the potato salad that looked so good (im a mayo in potato salad kinda girl, keep your yellow mustard).. The potato salad was just plain nasty. . No flavor. As for the sweets. . Didn’t have any. Wanted a smores brownie as I’m not a cake person either (I know, how unAmerican of me).. but my mom always told me those things look 100x better than they taste & by some of the reviews.. I believe it. All in all 3.5/5. Good bbq pork & smoked jalepenos.. Cool vibe & soda selection.
Way too SALTY and sickening sweet BBQ sauce!. First experience was at the GAINESVILLE location… ordered brisket, burnt ends (which was pulled pork and brisket smothered in a sickening sweet BBQ sauce. The meat selections were slopped onto a paper lined cafeteria tray where the person who took the order… wrote in ink on the paper it was served on… (This is the same paper that had the food on it). I am not sure why the health department hasn’t put a stop to that. (It reminded me of how they served prisoners – when I worked in the prison system). From a person who loves salt… (I salt my bacon)… the brisket was way too salty.. I couldn’t take more than a bite. After I spent $15 for my order, I didn’t want to throw it away… so I disposed of the pulled port (burnt ends) and put the brisket in water to leach out the salt… (tasted dry and bland) and gave it to my dogs.I saw all of the rave reviews so I visited 4 Rivers in WinterPark a week later. This time, I just ordered brisket without BBQ sauce.. and I ordered it TO GO! When you order it to go – they serve it in an aluminum tray. See pix in the metal tray. OMG it was the same… soooo salty. I took it home and leached the salt by soaking it in water – gave it to my dogs. Sorry 4R… I won’t spend my $$$ for BBQ with you again!I ordered a slice of the coconut cake… it looked good… kind of tasted like the cheap buttercream icing that you would expect from a Walmart. I would say… don’t waste your time or $$$… and don’t take a chance at making your dog sick!
