Falafel King has been in Gainesville forever. It has lasted so long because they serve large portions of good food at reasonable prices. The place is tiny, so we usually get our food to go or have it delivered by a local service.I always order a gyro and a spinach pie. Both are wonderful. The gyro is huge and topped with plenty of onions and tomatoes. The falafel plate is another favorite. Falafel King is one of the few places in town to get middle eastern food.Locally owned and operated this is fast food you can feel good about eating.
The falafels are so yummy! The hummus is rich and creamy and the tabbouleh has just the right amount of tanginess to add a new dimension to your meal. Definitely give the place a try if you are around. Its affirdable and fills you up to the point of blissful satisfaction!
New favorite place!. Went today for lunch. Had a gyro platter. Was so so good & had so much leftover that I stopped by on the way home from studying all day to get an extra side of taboleh & some baba gnoeush to take home with it. All in all.. I’m one happy girl with a full belly. This will definitely be a once a week lunch spot for me if not more!
Healthier option for middle eastern. I find this place most authentic and least greasy when it comes to middle eastern fare. The prices are good and my only gripe is that the pita bread could be more supple and less chewy – but that’s just a personal preference. There’s a cool little grocery section in the back. The place isn’t too clean or inviting, but the service is nice enough.
Try the strawberry lemonade–it’s fantastic. Overall the food here is good and authentic. The baklava is great too.
Yum!. I’ve always passed by Falafel King whenever I eat at McAlister’s. I ordered #10, the gyro wrap ($5.95). The food came out very fast, maybe 5 minute wait. Compared with Pita Pit, the gyro was not greasy. You could not see any oil on the gyro which means more healthier of course. The yogurt sauce is also known as the tzatsiki dressing. Everything was proportional and made me content but not full (I went to Mochi afterwards cause I have a sweet tooth :X ). I would recommend trying out Falafel King since their price is comparable to Pita Pit’s and its a bit more healthier.
