Mya’s is hands-down the best sushi in Gainesville. The price is a little high, but it is more than made up for in the quality and flavor of the food itself. The variety of options added to the expertise in preparation makes this place more than a match for any of the other sushi restaurants in town. Add that to the fact that it is not well known makes it an ideal place for a quick lunch or an intimate dinner date.The location is unfortunate, but they have made up for it by tasteful decoration and excellent lighting. It feels cozy and intimate, and the screens at the front door helps to separate it from the zoo-enclosure feeling that sometimes arises from eating at restaurants in high trafficked strip malls. All of the wood and paneling helps to give it a pseudo-authentic Japanese vibe that only adds to the quality of the experience.I have eaten here many times, and I intend to frequent it regularly as long as I’m in the area.
