This food is crap, I have no idea why it is so popular. The food is shipped in a bag frozen and heated in hot water and served. Try something locally owned and operated, you will be glad you did.
An Experience with a Meal. Living in an extremely rural area, a trip to Olive Garden is an annually planned treat for our anniversary. My husband and I have eaten there many times over the years, and I only have one thing to say:It gets better every year.We went there because of the great food, but now the service has really been kicked into high gear as of 2012. Automatic salad and endless bread sticks, with a complimentary glass of wine after being seated; did I mention the prices are very fair? They really do include a lot of food in each plate and it is SO hard to pick a dessert!Warning: You may want a partner to share appetizers with, or they end up being a meal in themselves depending on what you order. =)The dessert is over priced, but it’s just one of those items. If I had to recommend a single dish, the tour of Italy is outstanding and memorable. You get fettuccine alfredo, chicken parmigiana (kept me up late hours three nights in a row with severe food cravings the first time I had it, unforgettable), and lasagna all for the price of one dish. It’s so hard to forget eating that, and is great followed by a chocolate desert. The black tie mousse cake has a pure semi sweet chocolate backing that will have your sweet tooth singing like a bird. (Not for those who want something mild.)Between the beautiful service that makes us feel like we paid for a special package, the speed of receiving appetizers and cool electronic device to let us know when a table is open while qued in line, how much FOOD we end up coming away with boxed to munch at our hotel.. Not to mention the /taste/, it was way better spending $40 for two at Olive Garden than the same price at Pizza Hut/some other place for less food and worse more commercialized quality.
I’m not sure why but i keep going back. Been eight times, usually the service is so-so with the occasional extraordinary. The food often has one ingredient that is way past the due date, but everything else is so cheesy & oily I always come back. If that’s not what you are looking for maybe hold off on this restaurant because there isn’t much else to call home about. I can say the salad is always very good & fresh just don’t let them microwave your breadsticks!
Good and Homey. No matter what you order in this restaurant, expect to get full on their unlimited salad or soup, of your choice, and unlimited delicious garlic bread sticks with every entree . Healthy-eaters beware: the salad is loaded with italian dressing and is extremely high in sodium. The food is not the best Italian food out there but is pretty good. I have never had a bad experience at Olive Gardens. The waiters are always nice, as they are in search for that extra tip. Overall, given the relatively cheap price for the semi-high quality food and the decent experience, I say you must try this place at least once and experience it for yourselves.
Extremely Satisfying. We met friends there for an early dinner. It was a wonderful thing to get in without waiting. We had a very good waiter – Chris- who looked after our every need, including one very crispy breadstick for me. Salad was good and plentiful. I ordered a new 4 Cheese Ravioli (not the official name) that was absolutely delicious. The plate also contains enough food for at least two people, maybe three. We tried two of the mini desserts. One was excellent, the other was not. By the time we finished the restaurant was packed with its usual long line. Still they did not rush us to free up the table, which we did in a somewhat timely manner. All around this was a good meal with good friends; just what we hoped for on a Friday afternoon. We’ll be back often.
The McDonald’s of Italian Food. I would like to give an open palmed slap to whoever started this corporate blaspheme against good Italian cooking.
