Didn’t even park. We pulled into the parking lot, noticed the condition of the building (and the parking lot) and pulled right back out. This place looks like it’s on the verge of being condemned. If they don’t take care of the outside, can you imagine what the inside and the kitchen is like? We used to frequent Sawamura 12+ years ago when we lived in Gainesville and it doesn’t look like they’ve done ANYTHING to maintain it. We opted for Yamato which was newer, well maintained, clean and had great food. The owners need to invest some money in their dump of a restaurant!
Nothing Short of Awesome. I’ve been a patron for quite some time and try my best to go back whenever I’m in Gainesville. This place is very unassuming, almost a whole-in-the-wall setup. The restaurant itself is small but the food is incredible. The portions will definitely satisfy anyone and the prices are very friendly. The wait staff is cordial and the chefs are engaging. It’s always a pleasant experience every time.

Been eating here since I was a little girl and no other Japanese steak house compairs where food is concerned. Lacking in the entertainment department, but overall great place to eat!!!!!
Go for the show not the food.
