I find the food taste average when comparing Asian cuisine in Gainesville. It’s the type of place you go for the theatrics and you get a free meal on your birthday.
Great Food. Have eaten here many times. The food has always been excellent. It’s the only Japanese restaurant where the servings are large enough for leftovers! Some chefs are more personable than others, but the good food makes the trip to Yamato well worth it.
Delicious and great service!. I’ve gone to Yamato for just about every special occasion I could come up with since I learned about it two years ago. The chefs are hit or miss. Always really friendly and they all make delicious food but there are some who are more personable then others. I love the birthday gong that they bring out and they have delicious lobster tail. All in all a great place to eat if you’re willing to splurge a little bit.
