A slice of wonderful Jamaican cuisine. Tonight we went to the Kersmon Caribbean Restaurant.It is a small,colorful warm place in a strip mall.Once you open the door,the warmth of the chef,server and owner of this establishment,Althea, welcomes you ,as if you had just walked into her home as a guest.After sitting down ,we were given water and I had ordered a beer We scoured the menu,without feeling rushed and Althea came over ,mentioned what specials they had freshly made this evening.My wife ordered the Curry Chicken and I had mentioned that I was thinking of the curry Goat and asked what I could expect in taste as it was a dish I had never had before.I was told it was tender and some people compared it to lamb,but it was more like a lamb and beef combination.I ordered it,drank some of my beer and could hear the kitchen sound of a meal being prepared.In the interim, some lovely china was brought to our table and Althea was keeping us comfortable with her friendly warmth.When the meal was served ,it was in two dishes,so that we could share.It had a side of rice and beans,plus cooked cabbage with different veggies added .The meal was outstanding.The service was great and Althea is the most wonderful hostess imaginable.What more could you ask for.Great food,a warm,inviting atmosphere and service from someone who takes pride in what they do.I give this the highest rating possible, for having the opportunity to experience this.Thanks Althea for a memorable dinner and wonderful evening.We are already looking forward to returning.
