While enjoying the blues Saturday night in Gulfport’s Tangerine neighborhood, some serious smokin’ rib aromas put me in a trance. It was like one of those walking-dead movies from the 50s, as I followed other rib zombies, heading for the kill – killer ribs.Shamac’s BBQ & Grille had them bones sizzlin’ hot, herbed rubbed, heavenly smoked, tangy slathered, and messy dripping, keeping the crowd squealing for more! Big problem: They are only open on Fridays and Saturdays, but you can call for catering.I am ashamed to say the rib masters have been smokin’ at 4717 22nd Ave South for 5 years. I could have stopped searching for a real backyard rib fix years ago. Oh, the regrets we harbor, as we realize the important things we have missed along our life’s journey. Hell with smellin’ the roses, I want to smell the BBQ!May your happy tears flow on the altar of life’s great smokin’ grill masters. Amen.
