Come on can’t be that bad.. YES it can.. Service was slow getting food out though place was not full at all. Portions small for the price and food was mediocre. While looking at the menu and looking at the food others around me were eating something keep telling me leave but I ignored my inner voice. BIG MISTAKE. Great place to bring grandparents or girlfriend who eats very little portions. If you decide to go anyway when you get there go straight to the restroom and look listen and smell. Guarantee you will be out of there!
Friendly service, mediocre food. I started with their French Onion Soup. If you are thinking about what you might get at a steakhouse, this wasnt even close. As a side for an under $10 entre I didnt expect much. More peppery than salty, it was ok. For my entre I had their Homemade Meatloaf. It too was ok, neither the meatloaf nor the gravy was anything special. The little cup of veggies was corn and carrots tonight, the mashed potatoes needed the not very special gravy. I believe my wife fared better with her Tilapia and Chicken Noodle Soup that also contained corn and green beans.Service was attentive and friendly. We got off to a less than great start when our server was just going to drop off a check and then return to take our order, and 5 minutes later a different server stopped by and actually took that order. After that short delay everything moved along very well.It looked a popular place with most of the tables occupied while we were there. They offer a nice selection of inexpensive food and further discounted food for us experienced diners.
Nothing Fancy , but great food.. My husband and I had driven by the Caf a few times, and today decided to stop in for lunch. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I hesitantly ordered a cup of Clam Chowder, as I am a die hard New Englander, and was very pleasantly surprised….tasty, good size pieces of clam bits and potato. My husband had a cup of Chili and didn’t have to add any hot sauce, the chili was spicy enough. Then he had a Reuben sandwich, and I had a Pizza Burger. Both were delicious. We were very happy with our visit and definitely will return again.
Don’t. Just don’t.. I had read poor reviews on here, but the parking lot always seemed full so we tried it. Save yourself the time, money, and disappointment and go elsewhere. French onion soup tasted like canned broth that was put on a stove to warm, with a slice of bread and barely melted cheese. Wait staff was plenty friendly but the service was slow and ordering was a five minute long ordeal with their complicated system. We were hoping to find a new local place to eat, but we will not be going back again.
Nothing Fancy, the right name for this place.Nothing at all sets it out. Service was very good. This is the perfect place for the over 75 age crowd. Small plates, small price, no taste.
Not consistent…. First time I went the lunch was ok but the service very slow… So I gave it another shot during dinner the second time around. The food was ok but for the price the plates were a bit small. Service was better.. I gave it one more try for Breakfast. I got the Build your own skillet. Once agian it was very small for the price, cold, and not very good. It wasn’t in a skillet just thrown on a plate. We had 5 different waiters/waitresses… They looked very unorganized. That was probably the last time I will go.
Second time… is not a charm.. We’ve been there twice shortly after they were open (once for breakfast and once for dinner) and had pretty different experiences. The first time we went for breakfast and it was pretty good. I did the Country Benedict and my wife did the Eskimo Waffle. Both were good and we’d get both again (though neither was fantastic). The service was also nice and prompt for a Sunday morning.Dinner on the other hand was a bit of a disaster and the reason we likely won’t be visiting again. The wait staff wasn’t the friendliest at first, but at least they were informative. The wife had planned on trying the pork tenderloin, but the waitress wisely suggested us away from it and then gave us some quality information: apparently quite a bit of food in the back is far from homemade and it seems a good portion of the meat is processed frozen goods (her words not mine). Certainly felt like the wrong thing for a waitress to say about a new establishment, but I appreciated it.So we both ended up trying the country fried steak with country gravy (my first choice anyways), what a miss what was. Let’s run down the list: – I had a soup with the meal which was okay, but the crackers with it were stale (how does this happen with such a new restaurant?) – The country gravy was the same as breakfast and was decent, but the steak itself was pretty bland and overcooked. – It was randomly served on a piece of white toast which I found a bit odd. – The mashed potatoes with it were certainly from a mix, and it was served with a brown gravy. So the plate ended up being an odd mix of brown and country gravy. – The vegetables seemed to be frozen vegetables from a bag. – The roll served with the meal tasted old and just wasn’t very good. I love my bread and if you set a piece in front of me it will disappear very quickly… I didn’t finish the roll.So yeah, that dinner was a major miss and left a pretty bad taste in our mouth. If we go back again it would only be for breakfast, but it will be a while before that happens. Hopefully they get their act together and improve the food quality, else wise I don’t see them lasting that long.
