This is a top favorite in our family. The food and atmosphere is fun! We typically go for more starters, skip entrees and finish with a few desserts. We haven’t found a starter we don’t like, and the dessert – they make their own flavors of ice cream that will blow your mind! My husband will order an entree and that is the Jamaican Fried Chicken with the Waffles. That is a HUGE plate and can feed 2 people. Overall we love it there.

I LOVE this place. Every time I am in Tampa, I go to this place. It’s one of those places I can’t wait to take friends because I want to see what they think. Today’s victim was Jason Saltsman. The menu changes constantly with the seasons and availability of the ingredients so no promises this…

Like a train ride. Drove passed it twice. Unassuming. Dark even. For a bit I thought it might be closed, but could not possibly. Social Wednesdays. Found the valet parking and saw the orange E. My mental picture completely wrong. I had imagined it lounge-ish, a place to hang out and drink expensive, crafted cocktails tilting your head back in laughter. A pout. All tables full. The long bar looking like a very busy cafeteria. Unfriendly. Many men still wearing suits and ties eating mindfully. A table/booth in the middle of a lonesome corridor that shared a wall with a very noisy kitchen. Felt trapped in a train cart to nowhere. My ear searched for music…could not come up with any…but there was this continuous noise lingering enough to almost make conversation-having a daring act. The service impeccable and honest about suggestions. Mindful to ask about allergies and spicy surprises. Felt sexy and went for the Rockefeller Oysters. Fresh and perfectly grilled. Missed the anticipated and offered candied bacon. Felt nostalgic for Jaimes sopa de ajo and risked getting over his by ordering one. Lovely, but I like the sopa de ajo with more bread and less caldo. Other spices overcame the garlic and it was hot and hearty, but some flavors ran amuck. As for the liquid diet…Tried some El Matador, Smashed Rickey (sort of like a Moscow mule), chocked on a Sazerac (and I drink unlady like, but that pink concoction grew me a mustache) and will avoid ever ordering an Emerald City. But I had been warned the city would be sweet…ooooohhhh eeeeeeeeeee. Yes, it was. But so pretty to look at. Its own little E bottle like a perfume. Enjoyed a sipping cocktail of Fountain of Youth, St. Augustine New World gin, St. George Spiced pear liqueur and vermouth. Could have drunk ten of those small babes with this sailor liver of mine. So went for bigger pastures before having to sell some jewelry to afford my drinking. Changed to Irish Goodbye, and loved the booziness. Lingered on the whiskey as I watched everyone leave. Like a train that had found its station. So much gray. The semblance of an intention. The food and drink lab. Great but Unfun. Why did drinking have to go so scientific?

Reservations for 4, 7:30 on Friday night. Arrived at 7:20. Very crowded several groups waiting for table. Seated at 8:00. All staff were very friendly and attentive. We shared the ham board appetizer plenty of food for 4 if you like ham. While tasty may be too salty for some. We had salmon, duck, steak and salmon. Portion was smaller than I would have liked but was flavorful and prepared as described. Presentation was excellent. Desert shared 4 ways. Great presentation tasty but expensive. the evening was enjoyable and we will come back even though a bit pricy. Drinks/wine are 12 to 15.00 and the wine pour is 4 to 6 ounces not overly generous. Dinner with 3 glasses of wine. And 2 cocktails and a shared desert came to 220.00 plus tip

An Unforgettable Treat. Edison food + drink Lab is not a place to grab a bite, it’s a place to have your palette pampered and surprised. The cocktails are unique and complex, and the entrees match the experimental spirit the venue tries to project. We got seared tuna – served with sorbet of all things – Jamaican-Fried Chicken over a bacon waffle, a succulent duck, and a peanut butter dessert bar and ice cream.Everything was excellent and the portions were filling. This is important because the prices are steep. Given the quality, ingredients, and plate sizes I feel I got my money’s worth, but it bears mentioning. If you’re looking for a special night out I fully recommend this extravagant foodie paradise.

Possibly the best food I have ever put in my mouth! This place is just amazing! Everything is perfect, flavors galore, they could not make it any better unless Jesus himself served my meal; it’s really that awesome.
