A touch of insanity…. The soups are outstanding. Then you wonder about the under cooked salmon sitting in water and not very appetizing. You look around and notice that you and your friend are the only ones eating except for the chef who is sitting behind you having soup and a glass of wine and totally oblivious to you. Wow, now that is strange!!!
Very disappointed – the young blonde seems inexperienced; I ordered easy over eggs which came back hard. This is one of the simplest and cheapest things you can cook. The bacon served with them appeared microwaved and snapped into a strange, dry, unappetizing powder. Chef Gerard was not in the kitchen when I was there, but I think the quality of his staff reflects on his passion for cooking. I hope he can find it again.
I worked for Gerard for 10 years nothing is fresh. all pastries are pre made the dressing is not gluten free like he claims and he serves out dated wine and beer. Id your duck or lamb is old he’ll rinse it off and cook it.
Delicious impromptu dinner after a concert at the Straz. I had the lamb and hubby got the salmon. Good food and attentive service.
Great salads and good service in nice corner
L’Eden est magnifique!. Romantic, cozy, chic are the 1st things that come to mind when thinking about L’Eden. Then the food takes over. Who knew a buttered baguette could taste so heavenly? I experienced ratatouille for the 1st time there
User reviews. Found L’Eden on an impromptu walk through downtown mid afternoon Saturday while out with the wife and 3 year old. Almost went to a cafe next door but was turned off by the smell and attitude of the hostess so we stopped into L’Eden, and we were happy that we did! Despite other reviews expressing doscontentment with decor, service, and food, we found all to be charming, warm, and romantic in an uncomplicated urban atmosphere. The food was fresh, healthy, and different than the typical faire. Even my 3 year old lovped his pressed panini and salad. My overall impression is that the cafe was reasonably priced and provided a great meal while ofering a homey atmosphere as relief from the hot afternoon. We will definitely be returning customers to L’Eden.
