One of my wife’s favorite lunch spots so had to join here recently. Food was ok, service so-so as we had to go back to counter to remind them our cuban sandwiches were till sitting in the press.
This place has terrific ambiance. Awesome Spanish guitar Croquettes a bit too creamy. This is a great place to experience authentic Spanish food. I have eaten here many times at this enchanting restaurant. The seafood is very fresh; yellow rice terrific.
Over Rated …. The Spain is an overly sterile ambiance with low valued food, meaning that cheap fillers are used in making many of their dishes, ie rice, mashed potatoes, and corn starch. The entertainment, when available, is decent and good.
Hit or Miss. Spain restaurant is clean and staff is very attentive. The fish of the day (snapper) 9/10, paella 7/10, ceviche 3/10 and pan con tomate 1/10. Tapas were very expensive and overall we gave the food 6/10. Great atmosphere and service 8/10.
Spain in downtown Tampa. This was my first visit to Spain and I was very disappointed. Have just visited Spain a year ago and growing up in Ybor City I expected better food and service. My wife order Fideua which is supposed to be a noddle paella using Fideo’s which is a very thin egg noddle about 1 inch long. Instead we got bucatine and the flavor was missing which tell me they didn’t use a shrimp stock. I ordered Zazuela de Marisco which is a Spanish version of Bouillabaisse instead what I got was seafood in a tomato sauce. To top it all my wife had an unopened mussel in her food and so did I. The waiter did not refill our glasses until we asked him to please refill them. Needless to say we order and deserts.
Ahhhh Spain. This place makes me relax, and thats hard to do. The food the service its all very very attentive and well priced. I only wish the Sangria had chunks of fruit in it, and was just a tad sweeyer, like in, where else, Spain. Love this place.
Very Disappointed…Don’t waste your money. My daughter in law booked this restaurant to celebrate her birthday. We had about 20 people in attendance and were very anxious to try this restaurant. I am a Food & Beverage Supervisor and I am very versed in the industry. I work for a 4 star hotel outlet. First and foremost, they were unprepared for us. Secondly, the paella was mushie and when the waiter realized that my son was not impressed nor did he want to eat it, he didn’t even offer to replace it. The food was overpriced, the portions were very small and the food lacked any taste. I ordered and entree which included rice and a salad and the beans were charged seperately and a bowl of black beans was $5.00. To add insult to injury, they had a guitarist and I was charged $1.00 for each person on our bill for the music. Honestly, being in the business the service, price and taste was not up to par. I have eaten in many Tampa bay area restaurants and will NEVER eat nor recommend this restaurant to anyone. It ashame because being in the business I meet many patrons at my restaurant also asking about area restaurants and this will Never be recommended by myself of any of the other 19 people I dined with.
