Real deal & good food. Ribs were very good. Three sauces to choose from and the fried okra was perfect. I’ll be back for sure!
Definitely return customer. I was born and raised in Geogia and was sure I had eaten the best barbecue around, but I have to say after eating at Deep South I have now truly had the best barbecue around!! My daughter had the pulled pork sandwich with beans and I had the beef brisket with fried green tomatoes and turnip greens – all absolutely delicious. This guy knows how to cook the ole southern way. The portions are generous, prices reasonable, service excellent – what more can I say except go try it if you’re anywhere near Brooksville.
Noticed this gem a few times and finally stopped today (12-14-13) it is a cash only establishment but the food was worth the drive. Had the pulled pork sandwich with (fresh) fried plantins, fried green tomatoes, my other guest had pulled pork sandwich as well with fried apples and potatoe salad, and my last guest had the pork platter with greens and fried okra with a side of banana pudding. WE LOVED EVERYTHING!! We were on our way home from Tampa and we were not sure we had enough cash, the man asked what city I was from and he told me I could just stop by tomorrow if we were not able to cover it!!! I have never had such service and faith instilled by a stranger, let alone a business. Luckly we had enough cash and were able to pay our tab just fine! I will defiantly go back, just as my guests would (& they live on the other side of the state). We are already planning another trip with out of town guests!This place is a must for any southern food lover!!!Happy n full party!! And as for the older review about horrible service… I have to say this, I d rather have someone guide my food choice if they knew what was better quality on the menu….just say n
Best BBQ in 16 counties!. I don’ t even live in Brooksville and I drive down here for the absolute best barbeque in 16 counties! Great fresh food, cooked to perfection, reasonable prices, great ambiance, knowledgeable, friendly staff, fresh brewed tea, melt-in-your-mouth brisket and the best fried green tomatoes EVER! Remember to try the deep-fried Twinkies! WOW! I just LOVE the food and folks here! Well worth the trip from ANYwhere! ~m
The best meatiest ribs and great beef brisket. I love BBQ and this is among the very best ever. A definite southern flair.
Authentic Southern Bar B Que. The place is situated on a nice piece of land with tall oak trees dripping with hanging moss. Around back are scattered picnic tables, a horseshoe pit and wooden swings for the kids. The owner took orders at the counter and prepared all the food. Family members kept the cold iced tea coming to the table. He highly suggested the pulled pork sandwiches and ribs. He delivered one of the best pulled pork sandwiches that was flavorful and melted in yur mouth. Since it was near the end of the day he piled on the ribs and added afew of the other variety of ribs also…..WOW! The fried green tomatoes with the spicy dipping sauce was to die for along with the fried okra and fried corn poppers. Dont wear your best shirt here, it will soon have sauce on it! We noticed this must be where all the local wives call in for dinner before their drive home from work. The phone kept ringing and young ladies kept popping in to pick up huge bags of food, all smiling and giggling.
