First off, I have always enjoyed the food here and they sometimes have great deals. What’s hit or miss is probably the service. This is not a high end place but it’s still the service industry. Side note: the tostones are too crispy.

Came here on a Monday evening and was surprised at the quality if the food and prompt polite service.
The first time we went to this Don Camaron was about a year ago. It was upbeat, fast, and wonderful. On this second visit, the staff was detached, service was slow, and the food was mediocre. They also have completely changed the menu- they used to be more traditional caribbean/cuban seafood. Now they are more like a Chili’s with fajitas and chicken wings ( greasy and skinny, by the way), and nightly nacho and beer specials. They have Italian pasta dishes also… Something has changed, and unfortunately, it’s not for the better.
Good and Cheap!. Seafood paella is very good and salmon topped with shrimp is as well. Try the coconut rum sponge cake for dessert, very good. Service mediocre. Wine cheap and decent ($18 chilean bottle of cab sauvignon). Stop by for a casual night, it’s pretty good.
Ound this gem looking for a Steak and Shake and was not disapointed! It was obvious that speaking absolutely no Spanish put my boyfriend and I in a minority here, but we had no trouble finding, ordering and receiving our food. Really enjoyed one of the weekday lunch specials (grouper soup and a dolphin sandwich), and am looking forward to finding an excuse to get back down here to try out the more expensive dinner menu.
