Worst dinner experience in a long time .. Decided to give their advertised sushi a try . They don’t have a clue. Most of the items were out of stock , and the ones they said they ended up bringing anything but. The rice was a mush , the rolls fall apart , and their soft shell crab from the sushi list was more like reheated dead soggy sponges and to top it off they served it with grits and fried carrots . Told the waitress that I had ordered Hamachi and they brought me tuna instead and she just shrugged and said they were out of Hamachi. I returned the plate and ended up getting charged anyway. The tuna roll was falling apart and their rice is the worst sushi rice I’ve ever seen. On top they are overpriced . I paid my bill and got out of there ASAP.14 Mar, 2015This was the worst dinning experience in years.. We live in the area and after seeing a sushi advertisement in the window decided to give it a try. of course I didnt expect tokyo style sushi , but I figured they at least could make something edible ? well I ordered a tuna roll , three pieces of unagi , and three pieces of hamachi and also ordered soft shell crab from the sushi list . first I was told they ran out of unagi , so I said ok lets just get the hamachi and the tuna roll and the soft shell crabs . The soft shell crabs were probably reheated as they had a flour based coating on them , but were as dead as a soggy sponge , and the flour coating was just a mush around them , completely unedible, to make things worse they came with sauteed carrots , and grits . ( off the sushi menu)??? then instead of hamachi they brought me regular tuna nigiris that I returned and told them I had ordered hamachi ?? they then said well were out of hamachi also; then the tuna roll I ordered was falling appart and came with a rice that was better suited for a rice a roni than for rolling sushi it was a mush and had no seasoning , no vinegar , sugar nada. and to top things off the shoyu ( soy sauce ) although they brought in in a kikoman bottle was chinese style soy and of the cheapest quality. I called the waitress over and told her that things weren’t up to par and she came back after 5 minutes and told me that the owner said he could offer me a draft beer for free ???? I told them to keep their beer , paid my sixty dollar bill and left. On top of everything the place is overpriced and they even charged me for the false hamachi nigiris I returned. I’m sure their meat loaf is probably ok , but dammit , take the sushi sign out of the front window , they dont have a clue. oh yeah ceviche isn’t made with tomatoes and white onion either .

We went on a Friday night, it was nice and quiet. The service was excellent. I had the special (meatloaf) it was delicious and my husband got the super stacker sandwhich. We were both very pleased with our food, service and venue.

This is not fine dinning. We, five of us, went for the special the other night…which they ran out of a little over an hour after opening…the baked potatoes and vegetables were barely warm at best…the prime rib was lackluster and under seasoned…..this is not French cuisine as I know it. The cook was barking orders to his wait staff every few minutes…very annoying…all told this was an unpleasant dinning experience and will not return. For the prices they charge, everything needs to improve in quality.

Strange Customer Service. I ordered shrimp tempura sushi. I got… Something else. Called the waitress and told her I got the wrong thing, she had the sushi chef come over who then explained they could not do tempura any longer and he decided to just make me something! Really? No thanks. I like to choose my own food! Too bad they couldn’t have marked it off menu or explained they could not make it and offer me a different choice. By that time I was too put off to reorder anything else.

Pick another. We ate at 60 N. Main when it first opened and again this week. @6 months apart. The food has been less then we had hoped for. Tuna was over cooked, risotto was swimming in butter and oil.The owner did a wonderful job preserving this old building while creating an elegant atmosphere with live Jazz piano. However it is apparent little effort went to training the service staff. We had to go to the bar to get glasses for our beer, the waitress forgot about us. The entree was brought out within minutes of the salads, The owner does not accept comments, his replies so far where, you can’t please every one, the risotto is delicious. For the money you will do much better at Marks Prime, Embers or Mildred’s.

Upcale eatery that doesn’t know its demographic. The dcor in this place is beautiful, and the service was wonderful! The food is lack luster and very, very expensive. The sushi rolls were just average, but priced way too high ($10.00 a roll). Our $10.00 crab cakes were small and had no seasoning.Listen, if you want to last you have to know your customer. High Springs is full of salt-of-the-earth folks who enjoy a nice dining experience, but are smart enough to know when something is way over priced. We will travel to Gainesville to get our sushi experience on and pay half of what you are charging. You have to come down on your prices. There is a sushi place we go to that has happy hour rolls. It is your basic tuna, California, spicy salmon, and few others on there that they charge between $3.50 and $4.00 a roll up until 7:00pm. This place is mobbed during that time. On the weekends they do not offer the happy hour roll places and every time we’ve gone there on the weekends it’s dead. During these tough times, people want a deal…and quite frankly need it. Otherwise, they will just forgo going out to eat and just stay home.

Beef Tenderloin and Swordfish Steak. The swordfish steak was the fish of the day and was baked with fresh greens and crisp vegetables. Very tasty. The beef tenderloin was prepared with a potato waffle and a carrot and turnip puree. The Coco Salad was especially tasty with crisp romaine along with roasted red peppers, raisins, roasted pistachios, and feta cheese lightly coated with a sweet caesar dressing.
