301 Family Rest is just the place I would go to for Momma’s southern cookin’. They offer different specials every weekday and everything is made to order (fresh & from scratch). Everything from their pancakes, to chicken ‘n’ dumplings are to die for. Do yourself a favor and stop by 301 Family Restaurant next time your heading to Orlando or visiting the fair grounds. You won’t be disappointed!
Great Lunch. I’ve driven by the 301 Family Restaurant a bazillion times or more, but sadly, I never stopped in to eat. I suppose the downhome appearance of the place lends to visions of dirty kitchens and greasy countertops. Nothing could be further from the truth. I cannot attest to the cleanliness of the kitchen nor the countertops, but I will say that the floor in the dining area could have used a good mopping. You have to keep in mind that the clientele is mostly blue collar, so lots of workboots are stomping in and out of there during the course of a day. So I didn’t pay much mind to the dusty floor. I had a club sandwich with fries and it was fantastic. It was just about the best club I’d ever had. The fries were good, crispy and hot and the price was very reasonable. My lunch companion had a grilled ham and cheese that looked like heaven. The service was friendly and fast. I will certainly be back to this little gem on 301. By the way, in case you were wondering…the restaurant was there before Dallas Bull grew up across the street.
