Maybe the best lobster I’ve ever had.

You wouldn’t think you would find such a gem in a small town such as ormond beach florida, however Takeya is by far the best hibachi / sushi restaurant I have ever been to. This includes all of Florida and any other state I’ve visited. Go, You won’t be disappointed.

Might try the hibachi, but sushi never again. I have only gotten sushi from this place, a couple of times as takeout and a couple of times eating there, and I won’t go back for the sushi. Service has always been hit or miss there, and last time sushi was not only pricey but it didn’t even taste fresh. If I go again, it would only be for hibachi, and only if my friends want to go. I won’t suggest it again.

We went for a sushi dinner at around 8 pm in a Tursday night, the place was not at all busy. I ordered using the sushi menu, after everyone’s soup was brought out I had to remind the waiter I also ordered soul, it was dropped off about 5 mins later, everyone else was done with theirs. The sushi I ordered was only 3 different types, two pcs. each, for a total of 6 pcs., in all. The rice was hard and clumped together, I am assuming it had been sitting around for a while, the sushi was not that great, and that’s a lit for me to say because I love sushi. The total for my meal was $52 after tip, I have been to every sushi place iny area, and I have had better sushi at small ‘hole in the wall places’ than I was served at this ‘higher end’ steak house. I may go back for a second chance but I really don’t want to waste money.

I have been a customer for 15 years and every time I visit the Daytona area, it is in my top 3 pics of dining. The staff is tremendously friendly and helpful. The wine sommelier has introduced me to some of the best wines I’ve ever tasted. I am a sushi snob and I completely trust in the quality and freshness of the fish selections here. It’s a must try. The design of the restaurant is a work of art. Don’t miss it!

Horrible sushi, very over priced. The atmosphere here is awesome, however the prices were double of what a good sushi bar would cost. By the looks of the place you would think the food is great! Not the case here…. This was by far the WORSE sushi I’ve ever had. I would never recommend this place to eat sushi, very over priced, small portions of fish and edamame very over cooked.
