Do you want to enjoy seafood at it’s finest while watching the sunset over the ocean? Then why not go to GG’s in Hollywood Beach? Some of the items I tried were their thai fried oysters, tri-color baby heirloom carrots, pow pow shrimp (definitely one of my favorites), aji panca octupus and that’s just for starters. My entree sampling consisted of ahi tuna, skuna bay salmon, shrimp & scallop risotto and the highlight of the evening was their cioppino. Their ciopinno consisted of lobster, clams, mussels, scallops, shrimp and calmari served over a broth. The ciopinno was sensational, so much so, that I had to ask the chef for the recipe However, I will not reveal because you have to try it in person for yourself. Great food, great ambience and amazing sunset! See you soon GG’s!
It’s been a while since I’ve been so impressed with a restaurant. It was packed when we arrived with no reservation on a Friday night. We were told it would be a twenty minutes wait. We expected at the very least a 45 minute wait. We ended up only waiting 15 and we got to sit right out on the deck. My only complaint is where we were located. We were at a tiny table next to the servers station. Maybe on a different day it would have bothered me more but the service and food was phenomenal so I would sit at the same table again for the same experience. I wanted to go somewhere else for dinner because I wasn’t that excited about the menu, but GGs was a two minute wall from our room. Anyways, we had the powi powi shrimp which is making my mouth water just to think about it. We also had the Cesar salad, nothing special but good. And then we had the scallop shrimp risotto. Holy moly the risotto was delicious! The scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly but most important, the risotto was perfect. I can’t remember the last time I had such awesome risotto. And to top it off the server was incredible. Chelsea was a breath of fresh air. She’s probably the best server we have had in years. Not to take anything away from the rest of the staff…everyone we interacted with was awesome. Well done GGs!
