Eating fresh clams is all about turnover at the restaurant, if the place is packed and selling lots of clams that means they are fresh, Tarks sells lots of clams. We try to go at odd hours just to find a seat at the counter, have a couple of beers and eat clams.
Hadn’t been to this hole in the wall for over 30 years so wasn’t sure what I’d find . Great Tuesday special on steamed clams! Very good (large) conch salad too. Hole in the wall/casual counter seating defines perfect divey place with good seafood .
It’s such a dive- greasy spoon old school style. Just know this going in and go for the food. Great deal on the oysters and LOVED the BBQ shrimp. Will go back again.
Dirty bathrooms. If you are bliss ignorance this is up your alley. place is nasty dirty and the help is not far from that . only Romeo and Sammy and the family are worth the visit but you don’t go for crew show you go for the food which is way out in left field
Small, fast, and decent food. Good place to chill out and have a few beers. I went with my husband and our infant son and although there’s no child booster seats, it’s quick and filling and close to home. We’d def go back without our son to get some food and drinks, it’s a decent little spot.
Great conch salad and steamers!
Not very impressed with food. Not a snob by any means either. The buffalo shrimp I ordered looked like frozen shrimp thawed out and thrown in a bowl of buffalo sauce to hide the fact that the shrimp was frozen and definitely not fresh. I am from Massachusetts originally. Ordered New England clam chowder. Big mistake. Looked and consisted of a cream of (something) base and tasted horrible. Not fresh and did not have milk or and clam broth in the soup. Live around the corner and have no plans of ever going to eat there again.
