First stop on the island. For us to stock up on vacation eats and drinks.A smaller footprint store but usually has the things we need to get going at the beach casa.Best thing at this store is that the employees are very friendly for the most part.Having the deli and bakery in the first aisle is smart here so if you want something quick for breakfast, lunch or dinner quick you can grab it here and go without the maze of the rest of the store.Decent beer selection here too for those who need it at the beach. Me!
Chicken or Rock?. When entering the deli already being met by a very unwilling employee making it seem as if my being there was just bothering her, I asked for an eight piece box of chicken and potato wedges. When getting home I was unable to even eat the food, not all the ketchup in the world was saving these wedges. The chicken… after nearly breaking a tooth I looked at the production and sell by time and amazing, nearly four ours past the recommended sell time. The place was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned in what it looked like weeks. Horrible service, and the food even worse I would assume any dog would refuse to even touch that dish. The Rabbit hops from this one.
Better than expected. Considering that it’s the only full service grocery on the island, the Publix is really outstanding. It has everything that a Publix on the mainland would have at proces that don’t seem to be any more. They have great deli and perhaps the best wine selection on the island. They also have some of the best fresh seafood available. I know that many visitors stop in Bradenton to get groceries before crossing the bridge to AMI but it’s really not necessary. Great hours as well.
