Hidden location. Interesting setting. Large portions. Fresh ingredients. Good flavors. I would come here again and tell my friends about this place.
Cool place. Rustic, romantic. Creative menu. Not high cuisine, but a lot of fun. Great rooms to relax with friends.
Food Good; Service Not So. My partner and I enjoy visiting non-chain restaurants when we travel. The White Lion Cafe sounded like a lovely place to visit. We were greeted and seated quickly and then things just went down hill! After placing our drink and food orders, the server never noticed when our glasses of water and iced tea needed refilled or when our bread basket was empty; we always had to tell her. I received my salad but had to remind the server that my partner had order soup which came after I finished my salad. Then when my entree arrived at the table, we waited a full fifteen minutes before my partner’s meal came. Basically, we watched each other eat. We were flabberghasted that they could not bring our two meals out together and serve us at the same time. It was not like we were a party of eight. Our server did appologize for the delay of the meal and offered my partner a free desert but then forgot to take my dessert order until later. The food was fine, but we would be hard pressed to recommend this restaurant to others based on the service. It did appear to us as though the service staff enjoyed working there as they were having a lot of fun while we waited for them.
Great place to chill!. White Lion is one of the best secrets of Miami. Located in Homestead, FL, the menu is extensive but not too expensive. They have a little bar and wonderful chef. Very relaxed atmosphere with antiques and very nice efficient wait staff. Lori the owner and chief cook tries new creations and never fails! I love this place!
I must correct reviewer Bri, The White Lion is neither located in Florida City or seedy area. It is located right next to a middle school and assisted living facility, as well as several old Homestead homes. I can’t imagine you’re a local making such claims. The White Lion is a wonderful staple to the Homestead dining scene.12 Jul, 2009Great lunch menu, dinner menu a little pricey. Homey feel. Those wary of sharing eating space with pets, be forewarned a cat and dog do roam the place. They don’t get near the tables much, just lounge around.
Hard to find, easy to love. Although it is located in a seedy area of Florida City this restaurant offers great home cooking! The structure gives off a great ambiance. Try the desserts….nothing like homemade pie!
