The Mahi mahi tacos are super fresh and well accompanied. Their lemonade was also fresh and plentiful. Our server apologized beforehand as apparently the soda machine gave out suddenly so she suggested the fresh squeezed lemonade, good call. Oh, and that view!
Will not go back. We waited over an hour to be seated with 7 tables available, when we asked the manager about it he stated that the owner sat up the seating arrangement and will not waiver, the hostess does not seat you, you have to wait for the waitress to seat you. When our buzzer went off, we had to wait with the hostess to be called, mind you this is after our buzzer went off. We finally was seated after ten more minutes of waiting to be called.The food was good, but still confused as to how a 12.99 basket ( 4 silver dollar size Scallops with two hush puppies and fries) ended up 24.97, I was told it was because I didn’t indicate that I wanted small scallops. (WTH!, the menu didn’t show different sizes), I will not go back. If you go, bring lots of money and a jar of vasaline.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE SAM’S HUDSON BEACH BAR. My husband and I live in Hudson. We visit Sam’s on a regular basis! The food is great, as well as the drinks! We have MANY pictures taken of the beautiful sunsets! GREAT ATMOSPHERE! WISH YOU WOULD GET SOME DIFFERENT COLOR GLASSES WITH STRAWS TO ADD TO OUR COLLECTION!!!! TOO MANY GREEN ONES!! Thank you!!P.S. My brother from Ohio loves Sam’s too! Would love different colored glasses to take home with him!!!!!
It has a beautiful view, but that is all it has going for it.. I’ve stopped twice to see if it was just a one time thing, but both times I got bad service and we were mostly ignored, and both times the place was not packed. The food is average and they don’t even serve water without paying for the bottle. It does have a lovely view, but you can find better sea food in the area. If the place was cheap, then I might look a little bit more favorably on it.
Horrible grease food…crab cakes & shrimp we left on the table in take home box. Overpriced garbage..really bad.
Great service-Angel, great food, great atmosphere! Shout out to Angel!. Not sure if my previous review ‘took’ it wasn’t acknowledged when submitted, so I’m might be duplicating, sorry about that in advance. My hubby and I found this place about a year ago, now they have a new menu, even better! Love the plantains and the mango slaw! My hubby is retired Army, 23yrs and they happily offer a military discount, thank you! Being seated can be slow, especially if you show up after 4pm on weekends, expect to WAIT! Angel, our favorite server rocks, bends over backwards to make us happy and with a smile and urgency. Love him. Rarely, we have a different server, but they are always sweet too! The hostess is sweet and our compliments to the chefs! One suggestion, have a cocktail waitress perusing around to get us cocktails while we wait. We have waited up to 2 hours one Saturday! Their bar is tiny and the bartenders could use a flame under their feet sometime. I’ve been a bartender on St Pete beach at a couple of beach bars in my past and know how to move really fast! I’m a RN and still know how to move fast! :^) all that said, we are happy to be repeat customers. And yes, I read the news article, but unless an establishment is infested with German cockroaches, ANY open building with food in Florida is going to have the occasional palmetto, or a couple of flies. Toughen up people. Kids spread more germs on a daily basis but we love them anyway! Am I right? God bless all! Keep up the great service, food, music and atmosphere!
We went there today April 19 and never for waited on while people who came after us did We were totally ignored We were there from 130 til 215. The lady who gave us our menus just said sorry. Was looking forward to eating thereBad service when two waiters kept waiting on the tables around us people that came in after us. Not even our drink order was taken
