Great food and service. From reading the reviews, I’m not sure what it was like before the new owners. But I will say that right now it’s really good. A group of 10 of us ate there last week. Our server was personable, very knowledgeable about the types of fish and obviously excited to be doing what he was doing. We ordered 6-7 different dishes and everyone was pleased with what they got. I had the grouper with a citrus bacon sauce…very tasty! The sides were all good too, including the island rice! As a gauge of how good everyone thought it was…I can’t remember any plate going back with food left on it…all scraped clean! The only comment I’d make for improvement…the key lime pie was good but not great. Next time I’m in the Melbourne area, I will definitely go back.
EXCELENT!!! Glad to have the new owners take over!!. Haven’t been here in a couple years, but after hearing a new owner and Culinary graduate chef had taken over thought it was time to try again. It is back to the standard of excellence as it used to be with the original owners!! Service was fantastic, food was great, servings good sized and cooked to perfection. Fish is as fresh as you can get, right from the Port to the restaurant – cant get much fresher!! Glad to have another great restaurant in Indialantic to accompany our other fine ones!!!! This is a must try for all!!Dave
Love it!. Thus is my new favorite restaurant! Staff was great and it was really clean. I love the snapper and the conch fritters I had as an appetizer. I can’t wait to go back for the snapper that was just wonderful.
Island Fish Grill is under new ownership as of Aug 1st. Please allow us to rectify any previous concerns. We appreciate our customers and are here to serve. Jack and Lori
I called to place an order for the first and last time. I don’t know if there was a dinner rush or what, but I called to place an order and the woman on the other end was extremely rude, and when I asked to speak to the manager, she hung up on me. They just lost a customer for good. I will not tolerate that kind of disrespect and sorry excuse for customer service. I’m unaware of who to call to alert them of what happened, so I’m writing a review, but I really don’t understand how some one would treat a customer in such a manner.
Big disappointment. We are Floridians who often visit Melbourne for a few days on the beach. We had heard that Islands Fish Grill had great seafood. Since we love good seafood, we had to try it tonight. What a disappointment.First, we ordered the ridiculously over-priced salads. The best I can say is that there was good lettuce in both salads. The Caesar dressing tasted like low tide, the house salad featured unripe slices of tomatoes. Yuck. My tuna was leathery and pretty tasteless. My husband, who is a fisherman, ordered the onion crusted grouper. We know grouper and that piece didn’t have the right color (dark meat on grouper?) texture or taste. Covering up lousy faux grouper with a heavy crust doesn’t fool anyone but maybe a few tourists who don’t know how it’s supposed to taste. The vegetables were the best part of the meal but $76 plus tip is pretty pricey for good veggies. Yes, we should have complained but the place was mobbed and very noisy and it didn’t seem worth it. We won’t be back.
