World Class New Years at Scott’s. Never been there and heard all about it for some time as this IS the place to go, we were a little worried being New Years Eve and wanted a special night since it was our 20th Anniversary. It was off the CHART Great ! Decorations like no other, Music had us going all night and not a single dish was wrong and we have never seen a server with such knowledge about a menu, I loved my Veal Chop and my wife had the Lobster ,the rest of our party cleaned up their Seafood Pasta WOW…my party had plans to go to a NYE party after dinner and no way ..these guys Scott and Bill know how to throw a party and champagne for all at midnight ON THE HOUSE!!!! who does that…. Scott’s on Fifth does!!! 10 stars if you could …We could have been in Paris , London, Dubai and you would never guess we were in Indialantic.Thank You for the best New Years Eve of our Lives!!!!!!! and the dancing in the dining room was awesome!!
Want to say how much I appreciate the sincere effort put forth by Scott’s. The fish is always fresh and the mood is always warm and inviting. Over the past 15 years there haven’t been any places on the beach I’ve enjoyed more. Sure it’s not the epitome of fine dining but I think the critics have missed the point. This is Indiatlantic not Miami Beach and it’s Scott not Pepin. So chill out and enjoy the laid back beach vibe while Scott cooks you a nice meal. I’ve never walked away unhappy whether I fall bank to the regular menu or experiment with the specials.
Very mixed!. I have very mixed feelings about Scott’s on Fifth! My wife and I went there for our anniversary on a recommendation. The first thing we noticed was, unfortunately, the odd musty smell in the room which immediately put my wife off. The 70s decor is creative but we also found it a little overboard, in particular the spiky things hanging from the ceiling. Just not the atmosphere for an anniversary. We started with the bread and olives which were great, followed by a house salad and gazpacho, both of which were good but had some odd flavor. My wife ordered the Filet au Piovre which was excellent and I ordered the Grouper Florentine which had too much spinach in my opinion. The wonderful finishing touch on the meal was a immediate (Polaroid-style) photograph of us on our way out.Overall, we just had a few too many complaints for the significant price we paid for the meal. If they just fixed one thing (how about the odor!) I think I would go from a slight dislike to an diffident like.
Overall it was a good experience. Only suggestion is to lighten up on seasoning/sauces. Seafood Nachos and Sea Bass were overpowered by sauce/seasoning. Quality of fish was excellent. Service and local flavor are worth giving it a try
Delicious! Has a few issues that should be corrected.. Greeting from Frontman Bill is always lovely.Sparse dining room can feel more intimate in the evening, There is a ‘bar’ smell in the dining room that borders on a deal-killer. Final negative that happens too often. Shrimp is often over-cooked. (Note: As with ANY quality dining establishment, Scott’s will make it right with a mention.)The Very good lamb is overpriced. The shrimp problem, IMHO, is with whomever allows those plates to go out. Possibly, sitting a tad too long ‘waiting’ for order’s to be put together by uneven cook staff? I want it right at serving not half-way through my course.Otherwise, my latest dining experience was delicious. The addition of cocktail service is appreciated!Service, was good to very-good. Busman, seemed to be in the weeds.Superior desserts and wine service, as always! This menu is a MUST try for the area. SUPPORT our quality venues or they will be forced to relocate.Visited June 2013
Best restaurant I have been to in fl. Maybe anywhere . Snapper imperial was perfect. Good service
Dichotomy. For our anniversary, my wife and I decided to try Scott’s for the first time. We were looking for a quiet and intimate experience, and heard some good reviews from our friends. When we walked in, the first thing that we noticed was the odor. It was musty and somewhat masked by a perfume. I have a sensitive nose, so it seemed to bother me much more than the wife. The decor was pleasant, with the lighting turned down and music playing in the background.Lori was our waitress and she was a doll. We told her that we didn’t want to be rushed, so she left us alone, but was always there when we needed her. She started us off with a loaf of crusty bread and a small bowl of olives. The olives had a strong nutty flavor and we enjoyed them, but we thought it was awkward having to spit-out the pits. For an appetizer, we decided to split the bowl of mussels. It was a large bowl with a really nice garlicky white wine sauce. After we finished the mussels, we liked the sauce so much that we dunked the bread into the sauce. We had a choice of soup or salad, and we both opted for the salad. The salad was small, but sufficient. For the entree, my wife chose the Grouper Oscar, and I went with the Rack of Lamb. The grouper was a large portion on a bed of asparagus, covered with crabmeat and Barnaise sauce. The Rack of Lamb was also a generous portion, very lean and tender, and cooked as I requested – medium rare. The Rack of Lamb was cut into three portions and had a balsamic vinegar sauce drizzled over the lamb. My wife really enjoyed the grouper, although I tasted it and would have preferred it grilled rather than pan sauteed. Likewise with the lamb, I prefer it grilled, but it tasted like it was cooked in an oven broiler. The menu said that it was crusted with Dijon mustard, rosemary and seasoned breadcrumbs, but I couldn’t find even a hint of that. After finishing the entrees, we were too full for desert, but saw some nice looking deserts being delivered to other tables. Overall, we enjoyed the dinner, but it was expensive, and most of the entrees are in the $25-$35 range. For the same price, we would probably prefer the Chart House or Dijon’s, but we were glad that we went, and would recommend that you give it a try if you’re looking for something new and different.
