Still excellent lo these many years later –. This place is apparently a mainstay along the Overseas Highway. It looks to have gone a bit more upscale than the old days — although the prices are still quite reasonable and the atmosphere still casual. The excellent service deserves mention — everyone went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. It was just a stop for breakfast on the way back to the mainland and what a great decision.The food was outstanding. Dining companion had a more traditional breakfast and it was all perfectly prepared. I try to eat seafood at every mean whenever in The Keys so I went with the shrimp and grits. I don’t recall any mention of the peppers on the menu but they were not an unpleasant addition to the dish — just unexpected. Shrimp where large and well seasoned. The only change I’d make — remove those tails in the kitchen so I don’t have to pull the shrimp out of the grits and remove them before putting them back in.Can’t wait to get back down and stop at this place for dinner.
