Smoking cigarettes. Number one reason why I would not buy pizza from this place is that the employees stand right next to the door smoking cigarettes and forcing non smokers to breath in cancerous carcinogens.
Bad. I ordered a half Hawaiian have veggie pizza online. What they sent me was all the toppings everywhere. I called to complain and they told me it was my fault that I made the mistake and asked me if I had read the instructions of how to order pizza online. That is no just retarded, it’s rude. And just to make it all words, the pizza wasn’t even good!!! Soggi dough, tasteless sauce smothered by burned cheese.
Pizza is great, however the new manager, Mike, is completely rude. Our order was taken incorrectly, no big deal. The problem is when I called to let them know that it was incorrect. The girl who answered was very polite, but when Mike took the phone I was accused of be unhonorable. He was condescending when I hadn’t done anything wrong or even asked for anything. I will be personally delivering a cash tip to our delivery driver before we leave town and canceling my credit card charge. Use a different location to enjoy the great food and avoid the bad management.
Marginal. We decided to try Five Star and the pizza was alright. It was ready when we arrived to pick it up and it was still warm when we got it home. It seemed very salty and the extra cheese, our one topping, was sparse and did not seem very cheesy at all. The crust was not crispy and it lacked flavor. The breading on the pepperoni rolls was good but they were very small. The staff was friendly and our order was correct. The experience, at best, was average.
I’m not sure about the other reviews butI love five star! They have excellent pizza which I prefer over Pizza Hut dominos and papa johns! The San Jose location had always catered to our needs and I’ve only had one incident where they messed up toppings and the let us keep the wrong pizza and brought us out a brand new one very quickly. The garlic rolls are the best! And the male manager has honored expired coupons and has worked out ways to save us money on our orders many times. When I go in to pick up pizza from the store, they are always friendly and professional. The food is ALWAYS good (even when they changed the pizza sauce)!
Horrible Drivers. Mandarin’s five star pizza has the rudest employees and drivers. One just almost ran my dog and I over by speeding into my parking lot of my apartment. I tried calling and the manager was too busy processing credit cards to listen to what I had to say. Let’s see what JSO has to say about their driver doing over 40 mph in a 15mph apartment complex!!!
