I have been eating at this place since I was a child. I’m 31 now if that tells you anything, with a child of my own who enjoys going here. George, Mama and Pops (as they are known) are always a delight. Often, on a Saturday, you can catch Pops trying to solve the world’s problems with a quick wit. It’s not a fancy place by any means. It’s comfortable. I am a somewhat regular but these people always make anyone feel at home. The Steak in a Sac is a must… Steak cooked on the griddle with onions, cheese and topped with banana peppers, served in a pita. Make sure to get the combo as the fries are excellent. Cherry Limeade is the perfect compliment.
Steak Subs. Sandwich House has been around for a long, long time. It’s run by a nice family who are always on the premises. They have all the usual sandwich shop fare, but their steak subs are exceptional. I have been known to drive out of my way to get one, and I consider them one of the best in the city.
