DESSERTS ARE GREAT. This place has amazing desserts!! So delicious.
I have to agree with others that this place would be good for apps/drinks/dessert but the entrees were sub-par for the price. My husband and I had the rack of lamb and the duck special. The lamb was too salty. The duck was also over seasoned. We had the orange cheese cake for dessert which was light and delicious. At over $100 a couple for a 3 course meal, I was not impressed.
I went for a special occasion with my family and I have mixed feelings. The food was really delicious. Everyone enjoyed the items they chose, but the service was HORRIBLE! Our server was rude, disinterested and left us for long periods of time and other servers came by to check on us. That was the only time anything got done. We chose not to order dessert because our meal had taken over two hours already. This would definitely keep me from going back. Very sad because the food is good. However for the money I expect good service.
Valentine’s Day Dinner. My boyfriend and I just dined at Eleven South last night and could not have had a better experience. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The cheese plate appetizer/starter was fantastic. I got lamb and he ordered steak and both were cooked exactly to our standards. We finished the meal with desserts and were given as much time as we wanted before leaving. Valet parking was complimentary and well worth it because the parking lot was very small. We would highly recommend and go again!
Dated atmosphere and the ingredients were of poor quality. The pasta arrived ice cold, both ribeyes were flavorless and riddled with gristle. The short rib was dry and its appearance was a bit anemic. Service was friendly but lacked attentiveness. Very disappointing.
Always fantastic!. My wife and I ate here two nights ago; a return visit for me, and my wife’s first. Eleven South continues to please! We started with a Goat Cheese Salad and a Caesar Salad. My wife raved about her entre of Local Black Grouper with roasted corn risotto and charred tomato broth. I enjoyed one of their daily specials: rolled baked Flounder wrapped in bacon, over black eyed peas, with shredded kale and carrots julienne. Both were delicious! Our waitress was attentive and helpful in making suggestions. For dessert it was the Georgia Peach Cobbler, and the Bird Dog Bread Pudding. I made our reservations via their website (ElevenSouth.com) and it was flawless. I even modified our reservation days later and each time received e-mail confirmations. A reminder was sent one day prior to our reservation date. Whenever in Jacksonville this is a tradition. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The food is superb!
