The Original Crab House M…. The Original Crab HouseMy wife and me had dinner last week. We are both from Maryland and since we moved to Florida over 10 years ago, we have yet to find an authentic Maryland Style Crab House. I was surprised to find The Original Crab House, located only minutes from our home in South Miami. Upon entering the restaurant we saw the newspaper covered tables (a good sign) and the smell of Old Bay Seasoning filled the air (another good sign).Our waiter was super friendly and we ordered 3 -dozen crabs, Garlic Crabs, Clam Chowder and Key Lime Pie. ALL items were excellent! The owner came to our table, (he’s from Maryland and the Chef) and we talked for over a half hour. If you are looking for real Maryland Style Crabs, this is the ONLY place to go. Sure the restaurant is nothing fancy, but Crab houses are supposed to be rustic. If you have never had Maryland Style Crabs before, prepare to get messy! The Original Crab House is an absolute gem of a restaurant and well worth the price. Frank and Kathy
Excellent service, great chef, best tasting blue crabs , owner is from Maryland and He REALLY knows all about crabs, one visit and you will love this small but great crab house restaurant,, really great service, food,taste and quality seafood, good beer and tasty wine served.. A must visit.
This place is fantastic. Fresh crab, steamed to perfection. Key lime pie to die for. For crab lover everywhere. This place is awesome.
GREAT FOOD. My husband and I went there for a date night and we really enjoyed ourselves, the food was great and also the service, I have being knowing them since they was on sunset. GREAT PLACE TO RELAX.
Crazy Good. Best clam chowder I have had in ages! A little hole in the wall but great food and great service. Must try garlic blue crabs and key lime pie!
Awesome!. Cute little hole in the wall crab house. They are known for their blue garlic crabs, and if you like garlic (and crabs of course), you will LOVE this place. They also have lots of other seafood. I also had the snow crab, which was really yummy, and the fried shrimp is the best I’ve ever had. Oh and the home made clam chowder was also the most satisfying clam chowder I’ve had. VERY GOOD! I always get their take out and will definitely be going back.
Loved it. Went with a group a friends and we had a great time. We must have been there for almost 2 hours trying to take the meat out of the crabs, your hands will get dirty, but definitely worth it! I highly recommend the garlic bread, we must have had about 5 orders. Service was excellent and the food was fresh!
