Perhaps growing up in the Miami area I’m spoiled when it comes to Cuban food, but this place was not good. The caf con leche was bitter and the Cuban bread did not taste authentic (reminded me of a stale standard hoagie roll), had too much butter and was not toasted and bearly flattened. Latin people work here, but they do not appear to be Cuban.
Cuban Coffee Queen is a fun little place to try out when your in the keys. They have a little shack near Mallory Square and are right off the marina. I usually come here and get an iced Cuban coffee and it never disappoints. You also have to take a photo of the infamous building they have as every tourist does when walking by. Just another Key West landmark.If your craving a snack they serve some decent food here also. I personally enjoy their take on your typical breakfast bagel. They use Cuban bread instead of a bagel and throw some honey and creams cheese in between. A very light and tasty offering.
