Back again and we all shared the Pretzel Bread again. I ordered the Shrimp and Bacon Club while the rest of our group completely devoured their burgers, Coconut Shrimp and what I think was a Chicken Wrap (too far down the bar to see it). Never heard a complaint from anyone. So Jack’s will stay on our must stop places on our next visit.22 Jun, 2013A great place to eat when you’re looking for some good home style cooking. We tried the Pot Roast and shrimp club sandwich. Both were excellent. Went back a second time and had the pretzel appetizer and burgers. Go for lunch if you want a quieter time. Later if you want to catch a game and enjoy the sports bar crowd.
Big screen tvs (tuned to sports) everywhere you look. Not a bad seat in the house.Great appetizers…fine chicken wings…wonderful nachos…Absolutely fabulous seared tuna (better than the seared tuna served at Sunset Key’s exclusive Latitudes restaurant).Sounds like the perfect place to watch your favorite college team play football if you happen to be in Key West during football season.UNFORTUNATELY, its not. The heavy metal music on the sound system becomes annoying after a couple of hours. If you are siting at a table (rather than the bar) expect your server to become lazy and inattentive when he or she realizes that he/she won’t be able to turn your table over for 3 to 4 hours. (By the time last week’s Alabama game was over, I had to yell at our waiter do he would stop trying to chat up some cute young girls and bring our check).Definitely a mixed experience.
A surprise!. We fly in to FT Lauderdale and drive on to the Keys. Our first night dinner is usually something quick and easy and that’s how we selected Jack Flats… As Gomer used to say, surprise, surprise, SURPRISE!I had chicken parmesan and it was nothing short of excellent. Well prepared check breast with a tomato sauce on fettuccine. Sorry I have missed this all these years.
Great draft selection and awesome food. Try the shrimp and bacon club! That’s how shrimp should taste.
I’m a Sucker … I took a Pix or Two. While we were in Key West, someone suggested Jack Flats as a good place for lunch. We were in the area around 1:30 PM so we took their advise.Glad we did. Food was excellent and service was good.Look over a pretty expansive menu, one of the things that hit me was the Grouper Sandwich. It even came with a challege that it was so good and big, they dared you to take a picture. I know it a hype but I went ahead and played tourist and did and also took a pciture of my wife Meat Loaf, both of which are posted with this review. The Grouper Sandwich was good and the French Fries we fair.( a bit undercooked). My wife liked here Meat Loaf with mashed pototoes and green beans on the side. Had a taste of the Meat Loaf and it was pretty good.In any case, the food is very good and portions are hugh. Great value in terms of quantity and quality.Service is very good and but atmosphere is kind of neutral. Dark and smoky and it reminds you of something from the mid ’70’s. It’s nice but could use a little updating.Nevertheless, good place for lunch and would visit again.
The buffalo shrimp are a must have!!!
