My husband and I were very excited to go back to Louis today for lunch, we enjoyed the outside dining experience when we were in Key West for the first time in February of this year. I also had booked a second reservation for Louis backyard as my sons will be joining us later in the week. Sadly after my experience today we will never be going back to Louies backyard nor will I ever recommend it in the future. Ive had nine abdominal surgeries and I have a host of allergies one of which is to yeast. The chef refused to make my French dip sandwich with provolone cheese versus Gruyere cheese because it was wasnt the way he had envisioned it to be prepared. I guess its more important what the chef envisions versus what the diner can actually eat due to dietary restrictions. Things were further escalated by the hostess that came over and told me that I needed to choose another menu selection since the chef wouldnt accommodate my previous one. Needless to say I believe this establishment needs to focus on customer service. We were told that the hostess is in fact the manager which in itself is a scary proposition due to the fact that she was incredibly rude and could not of have cared less about our negative dining experience at the establishment. Good luck to those who go in the future. I hope that your palate aligns with what the chef envisioned.
