We had the Seafood Scampi and it was sublime. Full of meat with house made pasta . The patio was warm and romantic. Nestled in a quiet section of Key West but a short walk to Duvall Street.
Veal parm was hard as a rock on the bottom. It didn’t appear to be burned, but was very hard to cut. Sauce was very bland. Service was good, but $2 for an extra plate? How much does it cost to wash one plate?
We were walking, looking for a certain restaurant, and were a bit lost. We stopped to check the GPS on our phones and a lady (loading her car with her son) asked if we were lost. She introduced herself as Heather Merryweather (sp?). VERY nice lady…. She provided directions but said she owned (and lived above) the restaurant we were standing by, and welcomed us to stop in another night… but she kept repeating that she didn’t want to divert us from the other restaurant we had been looking for… After looking at the menu, and meeting the lovely owner, we decided just to go in…. It was a home run! My better half had the veal picatta and I had the Bollito Misto di Mare. Both were the best meal of the vacation and our best meal in a long time. Kudos to Heather and the folks at Mangia Mangia! This place is awesome! Just a word of warning, the portions are large…
