Best Filipino food I have had in a long time. So glad I found it! I ordered the bangsilog. The fish was fresh and crispy. And, the garlic fried rice had that special something that I have never been able to replicate. My husband had the lechon kawali that just melted in your mouth. After the perfect meal, we were able to hit the store and pick up all the basic necessities.

Excellent food and friendly service. Everything was fresh and delicious. The sizzling calamari had just enough jalapeo to give it a kick without being overwhelming. Palabok was an intriguing mix of flavors, with plenty of garlic complemented by the umami of fish paste. We finished up with a refreshing halo halo, which is a crushed ice dessert with gelatin squares, red beans, corn and other things, topped with ice cream, egg custard and purple yam pudding.Very bright and cheerful restaurant and market!

This location is truly Pinoy through and through! I was impressed with the wide selection of food on the menu, given that most Filipino restaurants have a menu limited only to short orders. I had the chicken adobo, pancit bihon, and lumpia Shanghai. All three dishes tasted like true home cooked Filipino food you would get from your Tita’s house! Served in large bowls and with a plate of white rice, it was like being served at your Lola’s house! What I enjoyed about it most is that it did not taste like it was from a restaurant, but rather tasted like it was your Nanay’s home cooking. Do not go here if you are in a hurry as the wait staff also services the market as well. In addition, because the food is cooked to order, it does take sometime to come out. But everyone is friendly, kind, and ensure you get enough to eat. If you are homesick for Filipino food, come to Mercel’s. I know I will be back!
