RIDICULOUS!!!!!. I truly am glad that those reviewers who gave Savion’s Place a 5-star rating really enjoyed it that much. For my group it was an entirely different story. Picture this: a 2-hour drive to get there, we choose to wait on the rest of our party outside and want to order cocktails…no can do….the waitress will have to go to an adjacent restaurant to get cocktails and there is an upcharge for that…ginger ale?….don’t have it…non-alcoholic beer?…don’t have it. Drink order, such as it is, is placed. (Don’t order the white zinfandelwatered down and vinegary.) Drink order arrives, a few moments later; so does the rest of our party, which includes two children ages 8 and 6, one of whom is autistic. We are finally served bread and menus are brought. Our waitress disappears for a good 20 minutes, and while she is gone, the skies begin to darken and lightning flashes in the distance. The child with autism is deathly afraid of storms and begs to go inside. When the waitress finally returns, she takes our orders and assures us she will make room for us soon. 15 minutes later the storm comes nearer, and rain starts to fall. We grab our things and all 8 of us take refuge inside the restaurant where the largest table–supposed to be ours–still sits loaded with remnants of the meal before. Probably because we were impeding traffic in and out the door, our waitress begins slowly cleaning off the table and we are finally seated. Our orders having already been taken outside, we begin to wait. We have already been there an hour, but the wait begins…and continues…and continues…and continues…and continues…and continues…and continues…The child with autism is extremely hungry, and becomes more and more agitated. The waitress finally brings his and his brother’s burgers and fries, but even though it was not ordered that way, Bryant’s has cheese on it. He, of course, objects–loudly–then, thankfully, allows his mom to remove most of the cheese. In the meantime, the waitress brings my entree, but only mine, and one of two bowls ordered of lobster bisque. Then the wait begins again…and continues…and continues…etc. I dare to venture a guess that after our orders were taken, we waited a good 50 minutes or more before the last of our food (delivered in spurts so that some were finished before others even began) was brought to the table. (The second lobster bisque was also delivered…finally.) Everyone finishes his/her dinner (I ate mine with nothing to drink), and its dessert time!! Our waitress, who by this time evidently feels that she doesnt need to write down anything, attempts to memorize our dessert requests: 2 pieces of Key Lime pie, one piece of guava cheesecake, some vanilla ice cream for Benjamin and a piece of chocolate cake for Bryant. Our waitress leaves and we wait..and wait. She comes back with the news that there is only enough Key Lime pie for one. I say fine, let my daughter have the key lime and I will take a piece of guava cheesecake. Thankfully most (but not all) of the desserts arrive in a timely fashion, but most are wrong. The boys begin to fuss with one another over the 1 piece of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream on top. My daughters Key Lime pie is about two teaspoons of filling and two cups of crusta clear indication that they had given her the last scrapings. We are also given one piece of NY cheesecake that no one had ordered but which I said I would eat instead of the guava. The waitress leaves, and we wait…and wait. Finally she returns with the one order left to fill: a piece of guava cheesecake…only she brings two instead of one. I ask for a box, and when she leaves to get one, my friend cuts into her guava cheesecake and finds it is still frozen. She takes it home to eat later when it thaws. Having just spent THREE HOURS at this restaurant (6:30-9:30), we ask for and thankfully receive our checks, pay them, and LEAVE.In all fairness to them, I must provide the following information:1. They compted our desserts because of all the mess we experienced (should have done so with the whole meal)2. The waitress reported to my daughter that she (the waitress) had issues and was upset and stressed out (should have stayed home then)3. She had very little, if any, help.4. The food, while not great, was tasty and portions were huge. In my entire 67 years I have never had worse service at a restaurant. If I hadnt known better I would almost have thought the whole experience was a carefully orchestrated joke. I am not a chronic complainer. Ask anyone who knows me. But I have to say to those of you who gave this restaurant five stars: bless you. You can have my seat, because I will never go there ever again.

Diamond for a traveler. In town for a conference and wanted something local. We took a gamble on this place and absolutely hit the jackpot. Great service with a smile and the jambalaya was amazing! Very happy we found this little diamond!

Wonderful experience. From start to the end this was an amazing meal. The pork chops were the best I have ever had and the service by Kim #2 was fantastic. The chef/owner even came out to check on how our meal was. Will most definitely be back again!!!

Gedbo. Went to Savions on recommendation of friends who came with us. We weren’t dissapointed. I had the lobster bisque & fillet mignion . There was entertainment – jazz singer- fantastic.Everyone enjoyed it. So impressed with the whole night, we went back the following Friday. Best to book a table.

Unhappy. My husband and I were really disappointed with the service, quality of food, and menu. The waitress seemed lost/confused and was not asking us if we would like refills. My husband had one beer and I had a glass of wine, and not once throughout our dinner did the waitress offer for us to have another. That is money they lost. Instead we went next door and had drinks. The food was horrible. I had a greek salad and it was soggy. My husband had a cod fish sandwhich. There was more bread than cod and the sandwich was falling a part. Worst of all, we ordered crab cakes for an appetizer and it was cold! My husband is a chef and those are not freshly made crabcakes. Much more breading than crab, and we both suspect the crab cakes are not made fresh there. We will not be going back.
